And there was a second date?
ahem, some of those others might be juvenile victims of the juvenile perpetrators. Redactions will still be necessary.
Yes, perhaps, but did she call the media or did the media call her? Either way, I am please that a discussion about how mental illness relates to these kind of violent crimes has been started. I think the young man may have been schizophrenic or bipolar, and likely wasnt getting proper treatment, not that I know what proper treatment is. Id also like to see serious investigation into the pharmaceuticals that are being given routinely for people who do have mental illness.
I was friends with John Noveske of Noveske Rifles prior to his death. I’m not too koo koo on the conspiracy stuff, but he did a lot of leg work on this before his demise.
I suspect she’s a fraud.
_______
Good point, sir.
Now, it's almost time to stick a fork in a few Marlins again.
;-)
I think I'm going to be watching the floundering Pirates through a rain delay or two tonight.
But this young guy I saw when he first came up this year and loved everything he did on the field, Bryan Reynolds is accumulating enough plate appearances to challenge McNeil and Yelich. They're all hitting .336 - .337. Pretty cool.
no, but they do to commit suicide....on not so busy days. I know. They also check the place out in advance.
Chris Kyle, Some youtube guy associated with FPS russia? were also killed about the same time as Noveske. Massad Ayoob was also involved in a helicopter crash with that 2 month span iirc. Once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, 3 times is enemy action.
Noveske was manufacturing, Kyle could have been popular leadership, the you tube guy was new media, and Ayoob old media....
conspiracy? possibly.
“She said he had twice held a gun in his mouth and was prepared to pull the trigger. Johnson added that ‘getting shot is exactly what he wanted’.”
And she did nothing.
It doesnt even have to be the smart money to know that you and I are footing the bill
Redact for valid, independent privacy issues. Kid’s record includes reference to other kids, remove anything that would show which other kid. Stick a gun in another kids face a year before committing a mass shooting; I’d want to know that happened, but don’t need to know the victim’s name. Kid interacting with teacher, counselor, social worker, school cop, etc., I want to know about it. I’m not necessarily looking to blame them, but to learn to better identify dangerously troubled kids, what interventions work for them and what don’t. But if there is an egregious ‘coward of the county’ either not following current rules, or pushing bad policies, their behavior shouldn’t be protected behind privacy claims in the perp’s name. I want the perp’s medical history and drug history. The information gleaned from studying that from several shooters may save the lives of would be future shooters and their would be victims. As it is now the only people who seem to learn from previous mass shooters are the next wave of wanna be shooters.
And as for not letting mentally disturbed people on a range, that would mean about half the cops I know would be prohibited.
Actually I agree mentally disturbed should not be allowed on a range but damned if I can figure out how to do that by looking at them, hey maybe would could make them wear a gold star or something on their clothing?
I’d also add that knowing their past dirty laundry would be released if their mass shooting plan succeeds might embarrass some into either not shooting or at worst shooting just themselves.
“Do most gun ranges have any restrictions on people with histories of mental illness?”
Back in the mid 80’s AIDs was becoming recognized. Because of the AIDs epidemic, medical privacy started to became a major issue and somehow privacy for those with mental illness became part of that argument.(Guess it made for a better sell.)
(Since then we got the HITECH act that gave us electronic medical records. The lobbyist for HITECH were the data mining people. I guess eventually we will have no medical privacy.)
As it stands now, I don’t know of any exemptions to the Federal privacy rules where by mental illness can even be reported to authorities let alone gun retailers.
Interesting. I didn’t know about that back history.
