LUBBOCK, Texas - An alert grandmother who knew what her grandson had been planning may have stopped a mass shooting before it could happen.
Special agents with the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives arrested William Patrick Williams, a 19-year-old man from Lubbock, Texas, the U.S. Attorney's Office of the Northern District of Texas announced Friday, CNN reported.
The man, according to federal officials, had bought ammunition and an AK-47 and had rented a hotel room to plan a mass shooting, CNN reported.
He had wanted to "shoot up" a hotel and "then commit suicide by cop," according to the Attorney's Office. Williams told his grandmother about his plans, and she urged him to go to a hospital and get help.
Do we not have police departments anymore? Why are the Feds involved in so much of this?

It isn’t just white guys. A black mother and daughter were arrested in Austin, TX a few days ago. They were at a park and the daughter claimed people were out to steal her vehicle. She and her mother were in the SUV so don’t know how anyone could steal it. Anyhoo, mama handed daughter a long gun and daughter popped up out of the sun roof and started yelling she was going to start shooting.
The Lubbock guy looks black or something. Not white. They do have a number of muzzies in North Texas.
Seems the Ohio guy had a life long history of crazy.
Yeah, bet the roommate knows nothing. Just like the roommates of the Austin, TX bomber a couple years ago didnit know nuffin. Just like the Boston Bomber’s wife didn’t know anything about them building bombs in their tiny apartment. Just like the mama of the San Bernardino shooter didn’t know anything about anything.
There’s a reason he was kicked out of his parents’ house. Hmm, so there’s a dad.

U.S. Attorney Nealy Cox credits Williams’ grandmother for probably saving the lives of strangers.
“This was a tragedy averted,” Cox said in a statement. “I want to praise the defendant’s grandmother, who saved lives by interrupting this plot, as well as the Lubbock police officers and federal agents who investigated his unlawful acquisition of a deadly weapon.”
When agents searched Williams’ hotel room, they found the AK-47 and 17 loaded magazines and multiple knives laid out on the bed, Cox said in the release.
He also had black tactical gloves with fingers cut off, a black trench coat, black tactical pants and a t-shirt that read “Let ‘Em Come,” according to the authorities.
Williams purchased the gun on July 11, but the ATF said it received the form on July 21 and Williams had lied about his address on the form. He had been kicked out of the home of relatives and had been staying with a roommate at an address that was different from what his license showed, federal authorities said.”
The brain chemistry, hormones, neurology is different at that age, particular to males. Homicidal and suicidal impulses in rare cases are triggered by the use if SSRI anti-depressants in adolescent males.
With EVERY school shooter, use of these RX drugs was involved.
Don’t blame guns, blame doctors. They and parents do not carefully monitor young men with the red-flag profile. This is not all socio- and psychological. Mass murders by young men very frequently involve SSRI’s. There’s a warning label right in the insert.

Everything liberals want they can have day one... cause we won’t be in government to resist them. We’ll be gone and they can have total freedom and power over the idiots who don’t know what it’s like to live in a commie hellhole.
That is nearly impossible to do now days, at least until they actually do a mass shooting or similar. Can’t violate the rights of the mentally ill. Better to violate the rights of owners of firearms, that seems to be fine. Better to put others in danger.
Most insurance pays for 28 days...and that is when most are released. If no insurance medicaid and other programs don’t want to pay at all so hoops, lots of hoops. Along the way many are deemed to be past the immediate crisis and then they are allowed to sign themselves out. I personally know of one that went off the rails, was deemed to be a danger to others as evidenced by what he had already done, was admitted for hold by police on Friday- supposed to at least be evaluated. Nope, he was calm and quiet Monday morning so the hospital allowed him to sign himself out. He was no longer considered a danger to himself or others. He did not even get an evaluation. A short time later he committed suicide, lucky he didn’t take other people out with him.
The socialists have had our Congress to make the laws allowing this and have had the courts long enough to make this happen.
All of this is why we have so many issues with the seriously mentally ill in this country. Back in the day the seriously mentally ill were locked away and mass shootings were very rare. We used to worry about the safety of others but now it is all about the mentally ill person.
We may not hear a follow up, but I would be surprised if he actually is held more than a few days. Most likely with drugs and talk he will calm down and they will decide to release him. That is why many of these shooters have been in and out of care. That is how it works now, in and out.
Families and even law enforcement are mostly powerless to do anything other than get them in the door. Problem is it is a revolving door.
Many families have gotten them help, over and over. Keeping someone locked up is nearly impossible until they do something horrible. Often with these stories you do hear that the person had been or was being treated for mental illness.
We have to make changes so the seriously mentally ill can be locked away again. We have instead made that nearly impossible to do.
Wondering whether all these recent killers were on Rx drugs, or any drugs.
It’s like the old chicken-or-the-egg question: Which came first? The medication or the violent tendencies?
