Saturday, in the aftermath of the El Paso mass shooting, near the scene, former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX), a candidate vying for the 2020 Democratic Party presidential nomination, blamed President Donald Trump in part for the day’s tragedy.
O’Rourke called Trump a “racist” and accused the president of stoking racism, which he said could be a part of the alleged shooter’s motivations.
“We’ve had a rise in hate crimes every single one of the last three years during an administration where you have a president who’s called Mexican rapists and criminals. Though Mexicans commit crimes at far lower rates than those born in this country, he has tried to make us afraid of them to some real effect and consequence. Attempting to ban all Muslims from this one the day he signed the executive order, the mosque in Victoria, TX was burned to the ground. Those chants that we heard in Greenville, NC — ‘Send her back,’ talking about our fellow American citizens, duly elected to represent their constituents in the Congress, who happen to be women of color.

what is interesting is I read an article a few days ago and Congresswoman Escobar from El Paso was pushing a bill for impeachment.
Today there was a press conference with the Governor of Texas, the El Paso Police Chief and another man who not sure he was. Behind those 4 were I think City reps. they all took turns speaking then one woman behind the 4 in front started saying the gunman was a racist, hate filled and so on and then said that once the Police investigation was concluded they would think of solutions gun control etc. That woman was Congresswoman Escobar. So I do think she will use this in her impeachment push how lucky the timing is for her.

The police were aware of the manifesto a couple of hours before the shooting but could not locate him in time. Funny though they arrested him 2 blocks from Walmart in his car shortly after and without incident.

The $165.000 was Beto’s congressional salary yet no one can remember anything he did substantive during his several terms in office.
Hell. I’d love to sit on my ass doing nothing for at least 6 years and get $165K, plus congressional benefits (I once worked for a congressman), free eats at parties/receptions, etc.
