The decision not to prosecute former FBI Director James Comey over his deliberate leaks to the media isnt a sign of weakness or lack of will, but of the professionalism and well-reasoned restraint of President Trumps Department of Justice.
Attorney General Bill Barrs number one goal since taking the helm at the DOJ has been to restore the impartial and professional ethos that has characterized that agency for more than 200 years.
He is working diligently to cleanse it of the stain of politically driven vindictiveness that Obama-era officials created by grossly mishandling the Clinton email investigation, and then, even more egregiously, orchestrating the series of events that led to the Russiagate witch hunt.
ROBERT MUELLER'S RUSSIA INVESTIGATION BY THE NUMBERS
Before this investigation of the investigators is over, there will undoubtedly be many cases of misconduct that warrant criminal prosecution. Comeys, however, was not one of them.
What Comey did -- release private memos made in the course of his employment as FBI director to politically damage the president of the United States, who had just fired him for unrelated misconduct -- was absolutely outrageous, and totally unbecoming of the leader of this countrys premier criminal investigatory agency. It speaks volumes about Comeys corrupt character and further illustrates why both President Trump and then-Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein concluded that Comey was no longer fit to serve in that role.

It is not as though charging Comey would do LESS to point out his behavior and character. Sheesh!
I luv ya, Joe...but ONLY indictments, convictions and prison can ever restore faith in the justice system...beginning with the top leaders of the communist Coup d'état.
Adding bankruptcies is icing on the cake.
Our next step will not be as polite as postings on the internet...
Meant Bill Barr, not Bob Barr. Old habits die hard. I guess I thought I was back in the Clinton impeachment hearings...
Barr and the IG are playing a beltway game.
Barr will decline to prosecute whatever “small” issue is referred for prosecution by the IG.
Then the IG will decline to recommend prosecution on the “big” issues still to come and Barr will go along with that.
This Comey memo is just another act in this beltway theater performance. We’ve seen it before and it has a bad ending.
"the impartial and professional ethos that has characterized that agency...."? Now that's a hoot!
Once the deep state controls law enforcement, then anything goes and political corruption exponentially expands.
you are correct...
rewritten the equation is the same with 8 above the 2(2+2)
in real math there can only be one right answer, so the the rules need to be changed...
THERE ARE THREE LIGHTS, INDEED.
these guys keep pissing on us all and are telling us its raining!!
this is getting way old...
This case seemed pretty weak but are there actually any signs that anyone anywhere is conducting a criminal investigation? Ya know juries empanaled, warrents issued, people compelled to testify etc.
“I like Joe and his wife Victoria but they are WAY to fond of Bob Barr ...”
... but they are way too fond of the limelight. They’ll say whatever they have to (even if it means making it up), with the annoying smug look on their faces, if it’ll get them a five-minute slot on Hannity. They can piss up a rope. Two separate ropes.
I feel the same way. This is just something to pacify the serfs. Next month it will be something else. The Beltway protects its own.
Barr would never allow the IG to work bankers hours and delay his administrative report months more if he was intent on criminally charging these criminal Democrats. Mueller and his angry Democrats certainly didn’t do that.
The IG will drop his report recommending no charges, testify once to Congress and retire. Barr will say his hands are tied by the IG report, etc. And that will be it.
The GOP is just trying to dupe the Trump voters into believing they are not part of the coup. That is all.
I don’t disagree with your assessment one iota. We have seen it too many times, haven’t we?

Washington is the home of the “Slow walk it till it vanishes” tactic.
Now I understand Wray is refusing to release important documents for 2 years. So, what’s Barr gonna do? Please don’t anyone hold their breath.
There will always be another excuse. Seeing is believing. I think this will fade in time as the election season starts to take everyone’s attention away from this.
Ethel Rosenberg was executed for partaking in the transfer of nuclear secrets to Russia.
Hillary Clinton goes unmolested for partaking in the selling to Russia the vital material needed to make nuclear weapons.
And there are those who wonder at the loss of credibility of the once vaunted justice system of these United States.
It doesnt make sense to prosecute him for leaking a document that was not classified at the time he leaked it. The DOJ classified afterwards.
Which of youse guys is right? It looks to me as if it makes a huge difference. If it's not classified, is it even breaking a law to leak it? Imprudent and a firing offense, no doubt. But prosecutable?
I trust DIGENOVA ... if it’s ok with him - it’s ok with me...
