Elijah Cummings' Baltimore Home Was Burglarized. Here's How President Trump Responded to the News.

House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Elijah Cummings' home was broken into last weekend in Baltimore, further proving the city has a crime problem that is out of control.

"Baltimore Police are investigating after the home of Rep. Elijah Cummings was broken into early Saturday morning," CBS Baltimore reports. "The burglary occurred around 3:40 a.m. at his Baltimore home in the 2000 block of Madison Avenue."

Last weekend President Trump criticized the horrific living conditions in parts of Cummings districts after the break in occurred. The burglary wasn't made public until yesterday.

Really bad news! The Baltimore house of Elijah Cummings was robbed. Too bad!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 2, 2019

Cummngs is back in the district for August recess and will return to Washington D.C. in September.

I visited a packed house at Stadium Place today to provide the seniors there with a legislative update & to talk about my work in Congress. We talked about what matters to them, & they encouraged me to keep doing my job & continue fighting for them in Washington. pic.twitter.com/UPKxoHGSA3— Elijah E. In the meantime, Baltimore continues to be one of the most dangerous cities in the world and has a murder rate higher than most Central American countries.

HUD Secretary Ben Carson, a Baltimore native, was in the city earlier this week and invited Congressman Cummings to tour a facility and discuss how to solve problems plaguing local communities. Cummings refused.

“I have a special place in my heart for Baltimore and for the people of Baltimore. There are a lot of excellent, wonderful people here. And there are a lot of good places here in Baltimore as well, but there are problems and we can’t sweep them under the rug," Carson told reporters. "You know, it’s sort of like if you have a patient who has cancer and you can dress them up and put a nice suit on them and you can try to ignore it, but that cancer is going to have a devastating effect. You have to be willing to address that issue if you are ever going to solve it."

I’m suspecting an Amish gang picking on Old Elijah.
What else could it be?

So where’s the President’s response? Can’t you at least put it in the article excerpt?

The ads and popups on Townhall.com mess up my browser. But then when I use AdBlock, half the websites refuse to display at all.

I think everyone here needs to reconsider how to do excerpts to at least include only the important content and not just the first 500 words. This may require you to go through the article and pull out non-sequential sentences, but that would be a service to many of us from ad and tracking overplay!

From Wiki:

Political views

According to his testimony in EIMI, Cummings had little interest in politics until his trip to the Soviet Union in 1931.[20] He subsequently shifted rightward on many political and social issues.[21] Despite his radical and bohemian public image, he was a Republican, and later, an ardent supporter of Joseph McCarthy.[22]

Trump’s response is in the article. Subscribe to Twitter and you can read it yourself, along with all of his other comments just as they occur. And don’t tell me Twitter is bad, because the president has chosen it as his main Communications to with us

Ben Carson is not a Baltimore native. He’s originally from Detroit. But he worked in Baltimore for many years when he was at Johns Hopkins as a pediatric neurosurgeon.

I read where the only thing taken was one of his wife's 56 EEE bras! Must have been a souvenir hunter, or a reporter from a tabloid!
