UK faces potential 'consumer panic' and 'security gaps' under no-deal Brexit, says govt doc

Britain faces potential "consumer panic" and gaps in security within weeks of leaving the EU without a deal, according to an official government document obtained by Sky News

..The internal government document entitled "What this could look like on the ground" and marked "Official Sensitive" sets out what a no-deal Brexit could look like in practice.

It appears to be the first time the worst case scenarios have been set out by the government in a single document.

..It was shown to some cabinet members but not the whole cabinet and is understood not to have been "agreed" by ministers. It is marked: "For Discussion - Not Government Policy".

The slide attempts to summarise all the potential challenges for government, consumers and business in a no-deal Brexit, divided into three categories - the challenges on the first day, after the first fortnight and at the end of the first month.

It comes on a day that the new Chancellor Sajid Javid announced £2.1bn of spending to mitigate no-deal plans.

Now even the pro-Leave Sky News is part of the "Operation fear 2.0"???

Even the government is part of Operation Fear 2.1?

My suggestion is that the pro-fear crowd should arrange for EU ferries to be prepared to lift the worriers off, and carry them as quickly to the EU as possible, with their suitcases and tea kettles. There, the EU will resettle them into French, Greek, German and Lux villages as refugees.

The folks who stayed in the UK....will take over their properties, houses, mansions, and pubs. Life will go on.

Johnson should announce free transportation for those people, with twenty-two Pounds for Ale as they board the ferries.

Sounds to me like the government knowingly invested in and signed on to a do or die partnership. Once you sign up you can never leave. Globalism at its best, oh look at all the candy, and all the shiny new stuff you can all have if you just sign here

I live in Spain and there are a lot of British retirees living here, many of them Remainers who are afraid of losing all of their EU goodies. I just spoke to a neighbor about this and asked her why, after all of the scare tactics, all of the articles about how people have changed their minds and want to stay, all of the doom and gloom, when the first chance for people to vote again came they elected more pro-Brexit delegates than any of the other parties and made Johnson PM? Did she ever get the impression that she was being lied to? She didn’t have an answer for that.

Catholics, the ones that conspired with the. devil to bring Jesus down. I will stick with Jesus.

You'll have to explain to me how that has any relevance to what I posted. I don't get it.

The British Deep State is just as deep and evil as the American one, in fact, they probably jointly conspired against President Trump.

Great post.

Quick question: what exactly are the Remainder "goodies" that these retirees get by living in an EU country vs. what would happen if they lived in the UK and Brexit actually happened (which seems more and more unlikely).
