Jarhead, you can’t be serious. But the President should have taken his anger out on the commanders that authorized the awards. At any rate, these medals are given out at unit award ceremonies so now after going through that dog and pony show, the lawyers are back without their participation awards.

BINGO!

Reading the thread, all I could think of was “Eichmann!”

“Its a freaking cancer on the military (though to be fair, its simply a symptom of the disease that has ruined American life - we are an over-lawyered and over-regulated society).”

No truer words have ever been written!

As an aside, when Dad came back, he was put in an office on Market Street, in San Francisco with nothing to do, while his CO was writing Washington daily, complaining that he didn’t have enough staff to accomplish his “mission.” Back then, the brass were worried about being demoted a rank or two now that the war was over and they were thinking about ongoing costs and pension benefits. When my Dad got out, he went from Lt. Commander, to Lt.

They didn’t even do their jobs, they failed on all counts of the indictment except posing with a body, the most minor of the charges. This is a farce that makes the Navy look very bad.

I wondered, that once gays could openly serve, how many of them would infiltrate the JAG offices?

The President absolutely has the authority to remove these low level awards.

Comparing what JAGs do in the course of their duties to Nuremberg is bullshit. These guys don’t chose their clients, and they can only prosecute with the information they have. It’s why we have trials.

Courts martial are predominately inquisitorial rather than adversarial like a civilian court. The fact that the court didn’t find in the prosecution’s favor doesn’t mean they failed or lost, and it doesn’t mean they didn’t do outstanding work; it means that the argument presented BY THE GOVERNMENT did not satisfy the standard for conviction.

Your unnecessary deviation aside (see what I did there ;>), leftists started infiltrating JAG during The Rapist's two terms (I was there and saw it firsthand), but I am certain that it reached 'light speed' during the recent 2 terms of The Marxist.

Pray that POTUS is turning that ship around. The problem is that the leftists from The Rapist's era have now had time to become the leadership, and The Marxist's generation is there too ... so I fear that the military culture will be polluted with Cultural Marxist 'virtue-signalling' human excrement for a good while to come ...

“The lowest level award for doing something special. But the circumstances around this particular award raise it’s profile dramatically.”

Absolutely. I can’t believe they get an “achievement” ribbon for attempting to railroad someone. Glad our President requested it be rescinded.

I'd forgotten about that truly icky presentation.

Jeb distinguished himself in so many ways.

(Among my favorites were campaign speeches in spanish.)

Another thing - legions of old-fashioned patriotic officers from all career groups LEFT the service early because of disillusionment with The Rapist-in-Chief and his policies (I was one of them), so that gave the commies an even freer hand to steer the ship leftward ..

Lawyers in the Armed Forces shouldn’t get ANY medals, except for the “I was there” kind of medals.

Oh, I’m a lawyer. Believe me, lawyers don’t deserve any medals from the armed forces - that should be reserved for those people who do something more heroic than worry about getting paper cuts or breaking a nail trying to unstaple a document.

I hope it humiliates them into depression states requiring medication. Bad Lawyers are causing way to many problems in this country, especially the prosecutors.

It used to be that when Marines were involved in something nasty they were drummed out of the Corps at the main gate.

That needs to return.

Withholding exculpatory evidence and denying discovery evidence to the defense isn’t within the scope of their duties.

Equivocation dismissed.
The Nuremberg allusion stands as appropriate.
