Ann Arbor Could Fine Conservatives $500 Per Day for Not Parroting Left-Wing Talking Points

A law in Ann Arbor could force a Democrat to write speeches for President Donald Trump or a pro-life artist to create a mural for Planned Parenthood.

On Tuesday, Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) filed a lawsuit on behalf of a conservative political consulting firm, warning that an Ann Arbor non-discrimination law would force that firm to parrot liberal messages and help Democrats get elected. If they refuse, they could get hit with fines of $500 per day. ADF is representing Grant Strobl and Jacob Chludzinski, founders of the company ThinkRight Strategies.

"On the face of the law, it is illegal for Grant and Jacob to decline a request to promote, for example, a Democrat running for office or Planned Parenthood because that would be discrimination based on political beliefs under the law," ADF Legal Counsel Samuel Green told PJ Media.

Leftists are intent on silencing and controlling conservative voices disguised as "fairness". They ignore the right to freedom of association and the First Amendment.

Is this a hypothetical harm or has there already been actual harm inflicted by this law (ordinance?) ?

The pro-life artist part for sure. The demonicRAT writing speeches for President Trump part, HA! It's as if the author has never heard of double-standards.

Then how can banks & insurance companies refuse to do business with gun makers & sellers? Why do these laws seem very ‘one-directional’ - only against conservatives & Republicans?

Seems hypothetical at the moment.

“Public accommodation” laws have been used against florists, bakers, wedding venues etc so ThinkRight Strategies has filed a preemptive lawsuit.

Looks like it's hypothetical for now but I have little doubt Democrats would use it to inflict damages on this consulting firm and others.

Because that's their purpose, to target conservatism.

it is illegal for Grant and Jacob to decline a request

Then it isn't a 'request.'

No. It isn't. It's actually classic fascism - government control of private business.

We do WE recognize that Liberals/democRATs/Communists are the Domestic Enemies that our Founding Fathers warned us about? Our Founding Fathers also saw to it that WE have the tools and implements available to deal with these Domestic Enemies.

We have a REPUBLIC....IF we can keep it, to paraphrase Benjamin Franklin.

Think hard on this, people. It is not a game.

Only if we consider the law in a local bubble. we’ve already seen similar impacts in Colorado (Baker) and New Mexico (florist). They’re setting the stage in Ann Arbor to make people do what they want.

Could this ‘law’ force a Kosher restaurant to make me a ham sandwich?

Could this ‘law’ force a Muslim owned bakery to make a homosexual marriage cake?.

Could this ‘law’ force a Democrat to actually think?...............

"government control of private business."

Actually, since a private business is an extension of the individual who owns and runs it, this law represents government ownership of individuals and what they are allowed to be and express as themselves. We are not government widgets, we are individual people. Our tax laws already say we are individual people. This law is in contrast to that principle. You can't have both sides of a coin at once.

Yeah, all that “freedom of association” nonsense is just racism...

Yes, this is sarcasm.
