If this is so, it reminds me of how I felt at the end of the Vietnam War. All that wasted time, money and most of all personnel for nothing. My comment then was don’t call for the next one, not me, not my children, not my friends no one. This is how I feel now about politics, don’t call. There you go again. AG is confirmed by the Senate. POTUS can’t just “hire” a new AG. The Never Trump GOP Senate hate POTUS every bit as much as the Democrats do. They will never agree to confirm an “honest” AG. Not in a million years.
What we see now is a POTUS without the support of his own party and it can be UGLY at times.

I disagree a bit. POTUS has given us a great gift exposing the beltway sewer for what it is. I always thought the Uniparty stuff was tin foil hat territory. But POTUS has proven that theory totally accurate.
The GOP will never own my vote again. I can only assume millions of Americans feel the same. The country has been changed forever.

How does anyone still watch or listen to Hannity in 2019. I don’t get it.
However, rather than blame the system, maybe some should consider they themselves the primary problem. To wit, why do certain people hold such deeply held beliefs without factual basis of support?
How can one create such a vivid alternative reality based on nothing more than learned experiences? That is, there isn't any genetic or instinctual element. Rather, it's all cultural knowledge passed down & influenced by others (often in positions of authority).
So, why did/so so many FR participants actually take the bait, hook, line & sinker? Ask yourself that question. And please don't justify that one would rather have faith and believe in something, rather than be agnostic and believe (in) nothing. That's just yet another attempt and rationalizing this kind of self-defeating behavior.
Realistically, when one is ready to soberly assess the situation, it soon becomes crystal that it's all been the Matrix since at least 1913. That's the year not only the Federal reserve was created, but both income tax and senate amendments passed. And guess what? 4 years later, the US was engaged in WWI.
It's all been a mirage with manipulated images for a long time. Goebbels' favorite author was responsible for a lot of US WWI propaganda efforts, then went on to a successful career in marketing & advertising.
You've got to step back and see the big picture. More than anything, I've always thought the hallmark of conservatism was IQ. Not just raw processing, but calm, rational, analytical ability. Once you've reached an objective plateau, you can observe and see the games unfold much like Patton with Rommel "I read your book!"
Lastly, it's why Trump ultimately is a fraud. His entire life has been one of seeking media attention. The presidency was no exception. He's not a fighter (in the sense of ordering wet works), but rather a verbal pugilist. He delivers a satisfying result for millions tired of being pushed around, but he's leagues short of actually turning the situation around.
So, vote for him, maybe we'll get another SC, maybe the US will continue to bump along. But the long-term trend is clear. Ultimately, it ends the way Matt describes it, with the US finally ripping itself apart from recriminations as the last vestiges of the foundations built during WWII are finally eroded.
But that's probably still generations away. The solution today is to discard old, failed beliefs and embrace reality. That means betting on continuation of open borders, and the resulting appreciation in real estate values. It also means never allowing any family member to ever entertain the idea of serving the US military in any way, form or fashion. Divorce oneself from all peripheral attachments, follow the law (ie pay taxes), but really concentrate on making hay.
