An actual game changing technology is being demonstrated as we sit in our air-conditioned abodes reading this. And it is being demonstrated by North Carolinabased Net Power at a new plant in La Porte, Texas.
The process involves burning fossil fuel with oxygen instead of air to generate electricity without emitting any carbon dioxide (CO2). Not using air also avoids generating NOx, the main atmospheric and health contaminant emitted from gas plants.

Then Hindenburg HVAC.
Sorry, but if this was any good it would NOT be dependent upon TAX CREDITS. Same old, same old ... businesses HARVESTING MONEY FROM THE TAX PAYORS.
I’d like to see them burn fossil fuels without oxygen.
Until then, I’ll be holding my breath.
Electric cars have no emissions, but the CO2 is created at the power plant. Is this the same with this? Are the emissions created where they make the oxygen?
Contained and used in the process.
What could be worse, a tax credit, or forced behavior?
” Is this the same with this?”
Curious enough to ask but not curious enough to read.

Who said it is dependent on tax credits?

The linked article. I didnt make it up.

Why present only two bad choices? How about a good choice? How about the market and producers going with efficiency in process?
“The linked article. I didnt make it up.”
The article says it is helped by the credits. It did not say it was dependent on the credits.

One of the first things I learned as a young Army Officer was that quibbling is not a good thing. If its a good and efficient process it will be adopted without tax credit subsidies. If its not an efficient process it wont be pursued absent the market distorting subsidies.
Not true! This process produces just as much CO2 (or maybe even a bit more) as every other power plant. The only thing gained is that the CO2 from this process winds up separated from the rest of the gasses that are produced.
It's a pipe dream to think they can "sell" the CO2. If there were a market for all the CO2 produced by power plants today, someone would already be extracting and selling it. With electric cars and heating, there would be many times more CO2 produced, as well.
We’ll just have to see, and keep our skepticism close at hand.
The tax credit is claimed to only be for the demonstration project.
Excellent point.
Sure, why not? If you can get it. But Europe is facing draconian measures to go completely off gas. It’s the same direction for cities in the US.
Without CO2, plants die, except for a few exceptions.
Not true! According to the article the CO2 separated and used in the process and the excess contained.
