Prior to the second round of Democratic primary debates in Detroit July 30, DNC Chairman Tom Perez addressed the crowd of voters and donors to lay out what his party had to offer in 2020.
After gushing over the twenty candidates’ “inclusive vision” of America, Perez freaked out about democracy and climate change. He vented that “our democracy is on fire and it’s a five-alarm blaze,” and predictably lashed out at Republicans for linking Democrats with the rise of socialism in the U.S. As he brought up climate change he ranted against EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler:
TOM PEREZ: And our EPA administrator ought to get the memo on climate change. Because climate change is an economic crisis! It’s a public health crisis! It’s a moral crisis! It threatens our universe and we must take action now!”
Well that’s a new one. Climate change threatens not only America and the planet, but now the universe? Not surprisingly, his boisterous pitch drew heavy applause from the crowd.
PS: Just before this, Perez also said "Presidents are supposed to be uniters, not dividers. Presidents should inspire us, not exhaust us. Presidents should make our lives better, not worse. And so in addition to being incredibly divisive and singling out our faith leaders in a remarkably racist way -- Reverend Sharpton, thank you for your leadership! [Cheers, applause] Thank you for standing up for not simply African-American communities. Thank you for standing up for everybody."

I thrill at the notion his “democracy” and “universe” are falling apart. They are two evils that need to go. Sucks to be you, Perez.

The number one indicator of someone one wanting to hack your email account is saying if you don’t do this RIGHT NOW, bad things are going to happen.
BTW, we are a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy/Thugocracy/Mob Rule like Perez wants (think Electoral College).
Democratic run cities can’t clean up the feces, rodents and garbage in their cities and they’re worried about the universe ?
They are exploring new, unimagined frontiers of stupidity.

I agree. After 8 years of Obama fatigue, 8 years of Bush fatigue, 8 years of Clinton fatigue, and 4 more years of Bush fatigue, I am exhausted. But Trump brought me back to life!

hey tommie- alaska was a warm climate at one pojnt in time- if anything, provided man is having any impact whatsoever- which of course we aren’t- but for the sake of argument- we’re CORRECTING the climate-
and by the way tommie boy- the world has at least 1007 more years to go- calm down- the world will be fine for at least this amount of time- likely even longer- but at minimum- we have 1007 more years- breathe tommie- YOU aren’t goign to save the universe=- Christ is coming to reign 1000 years on EARTH- this earth- so get on the right side of eternity tommie-
