Affirmative action is a discriminatory institution

College admissions procedures show irrefutable signs of bias against Asian-Americans

The practice of affirmative action in our country has a very complex and at times contradictory history. Modern day policies are most heavily influenced by a 1978 Supreme Court ruling that declared race-based quotas in college admissions to be unconstitutional. In order to continue their efforts towards diversity though — and to ensure indemnification against future court rulings — colleges began to obfuscate the details of their admissions procedures, exchanging forthright quotas for more nuanced racial biases. It was from here that our modern understanding of the term was born, and despite myriad subsequent rulings, this practice has remained mostly unchanged.

AA is wrong, unfair, illegal and unconstitutional. Any law that “allows” it is invalid and not binding.

They are never satisfied. They got AA, and now they want reparations. After reparations, they will demand Whitey’s money, and then try to eliminate Whitey.

Will AA work for whites when they become a minority as projected by a Brookings Census Project near or around 2045? /s

“In order to continue their efforts towards diversity”

There’s the problem. Diversity should not be a goal. If it happens as a byproduct of merit, ability, and hard work, fine. If it doesn’t, fine. But it should not be an artificial driving force in anything. Let nature, ability, and excellence sort it out.

You shouldn’t have to worry that your eye surgeon is an affirmative action hire, accepted, graduated, and hired based on race or ethnicity rather than ability and competence.

Asians have come in for a lot of hard treatment since the nineteenth century. They work too hard for too little and they’re too damned smart.

I don’t have a problem with Afirmative Action, IF, by Affirmative Action, one means unpaid volunteers providing:
- Coaching and mentoring efforts made available to all people
- Extra recruitment outreach to “under represented” communities
- Tutoring and test prep for these same communities

I have a BIG problem with Afirmative Action, IF, by Affirmative Action, one means:
- Boosted test scores based on one’s race (racism), gender (sexism), orientation (some kind of phobia), etc.
- Mandatory hiring or school admittance based on one’s race (racism), gender (sexism), orientation (some kind of phobia), etc.

Unfortunately for America, Affirmative Action was sold as the former and become the latter.

Reverse Racism is also Racism.
Even if AA started out for good reasons (which I doubt) we reached the point of diminishing returns a long time ago.

Spot on.

First it was “equal opportunity”. Then it became “goals”

Next was “affirmative action”

Then came “diversity”

Now it’s just flat out quotas. They won’t say it because everything’s been couched in soft language, so as not to call it like it really is

If, as a business owner, it’s illegal for me NOT to hire someone because of their color.....why then should they be promoted for that VERY same reason?

In the 70s Affirmative Action was justified by claiming that “underserved communities deserved doctors, too.” I distinctly remember asking Dean Silver, the Dean of admissions at the University of Colorado Medical School at a meeting with Pre Meds if there was any evidence this was true (thinking in my at the time liberal mind, if this were true then maybe it is one I should be willing to take “for the team”.). It was clear that he took umbrage at my question and it was also pretty clear he would see to it I never got past him in the application process. I had to go “out of state” to Med School. That simple question cost me dearly.

Did you see the article earlier on “Woke Capitalism”? It suggested the white males at the top of large corporations push the “advancement based on victim status” because it helps protect THEM from competition from “merit based” promotion.

It most certainly is! It is past time for whites to push back on what mainly ends up being anti-whites policies and laws.

Gee, Milan, you left out “Caucasian-Americans” in your opening statement

Now, just why is that? Intentionally or purely by accident?

It’s kind of hard to do that when you’re only 12% of the population

For every affirmative action admission, employment or promotion, there is a more qualified applicant who is denied based on race.

Affirmative discrimination isn’t just about Africans.

Anyone who calls themself a descendant of the European country of Spain is also a beneficiary.

Or India. Or Pakistan. Or Tonga. Or Indonesia. And even still...China.

Basically the entire non-white world - about 90% of the planet - outranks any white person in the United States.

How do you think all those hotels got sold to guys with the last name of “Patel”? They got loan guarantees from the federal government under AA programs. Guarantees that no 12th generation American (like um, me) could ever get.

If you buy anything about the 14th Amendment then none of this Constitutional. Especially EO11246.

Thanks.

I know all about them. They’re the poster children for unmerited affirmative action and especially corrupt favoritism: their Santa Cruz properties were based on county approvals where they were favored over other applicants and it was proudly admitted that it was due to their ethnicity.

You approve of that?
