A councilman in Seattle is reportedly opposed to hosing sidewalks that reek of excrement near a local courthouse because he fears that it might be racially insensitive.
No, this is not a joke.
The area surrounding King County Superior Court includes a homeless shelter and other social-services organizations and has become an unsanitary and potentially frightening scene one that reeks of urine and excrement according to an article in the Seattle Times. Desperate for help with the disgusting environment, two of the courts judges have asked the city to please power-wash the poop-covered sidewalks. That seems like a pretty reasonable request, but apparently, one councilman is worried that doing so might be a form of microaggression.

“Now theyll say that exterminating rodents is racially insensitive.”
A major source of food for poor folks in India are rats. I would think killing and wasting all of that food would be insensitive.
Just like getting rid of the poop off the sidewalks is insensitive to those who view it as a reminder of the shit-hole countries that they or their ancestors came from. Along with all of the other memories. “This Cholera epidemic reminds me of the stories Grandfather told us about.”
What I am a bit surprised and, frankly, alarmed at is just how tolerant and accepting the majority of the population is of this insanity sndhowpaasive we have become to allowing a tiny minority of the most insane and extreme members of our society impose their insanity upon the general population
Very weird
From the addicts to the sidewalks to Puget Sound unfiltered raw sewage. Environmentalists mum.
He is playing
This is Cloward-Piven.
Just another way to gum up the works and bring down American society, one cut at a time.
He is an enemy of the people.
Scoop it and deposit it in his office for safe keeping. Seriously. That’s what it is going to take for some of these dingbats to wake the heck up.
How does he know which skin color left which pile? Smells like he’s the one who is racist.
But what about the run off that gets into the storm drains? The rats will complain.
“....Gossett said he didnt like the idea of power-washing the sidewalks because it brought back images of the use of hoses against civil-rights activists.
Fire departments are out of business..
If you hose it away, it ends up in the sewers and the soil and the oceans.
_____________
A wonderful thought. I’m surprised environmentalists haven’t commented on this.
So he’s equivocating “civil-rights” activists with turds?
Pressure-washing excrement from sidewalks = knocking down civil rights protesters with fire hoses. WTF?
The part of this councilman’s brain that should have sent a “Naw, that’s crazy thinking” to his consciousness is clearly quiescent, having been overruled by his over-cultivated “wokeness” center.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste...
So now the homeless have their crap scrubbed from the streets and it gets into the water supply and the ocean, causing pollution and the potential to damage the water supply for millions. On top of that desalination efforts are going nowhere because of the same politicians who are the reason for the pollution in the first place.
Someone really should do a series on the Death of a State, highlighting California.
Is this for real??? If so, why would anyone ever go to Seattle again?
To quote Bullet-tooth Tony from Snatch,
....You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity”.....
I can’t even begin to imagine what could have produced this kind of reasoning.
Actually he was racist by associating the black protesters with brown poop!
Typical incapable-of-critical-thinking LIB lunatic and nitwit. What an incredible idiot.
We live about 50 miles south of Seattle. My wife has very recently expressed interest in moving to Texas.
Because of crap like this (no pun intended) and a number of other reasons, I am beginning to understand her reasoning.
I was attending the University of Washington when Gossett was the head of the Black Student Union.
A friend of mine rented a house with two bedrooms. He rented one of the rooms to Gossett for a shack-up place. Gossett was married but he used that room to bring his extra-curricula dates.
Not that anyone here in Seattle Lemmingville really cares about that kind of activity.
Here's Gossett at a LaRaza Gala....
Gossetts faces first time in more than a decade an opponent for re-election ....'Girmay Zahilay'. a Progressive Dem. young black man, whos a former "refugee" immigrant from 'Sudan'... until 2015 formerly living in Harlem.
