Yes, do we so easily forget that the Left utterly hated George W. Bush while mocking and attacking him pretty much every day of his presidency?
Of course, now that George W. Bush is out of power and an an anti-Trumper, he is suddenly a darling of the Left. Are we so easily fooled?
What I'm trying to say here is that playing by Queensbury Rules is not going to make the Left like or even respect Trump.
Not in the slightest.
So might as well fight.
“What I’m trying to say here is that playing by Queensbury Rules is not going to make the Left like or even respect Trump.”
Outstanding analogy!
there was Bush Derangement Syndrome.
In my opinion, the people who were deranged were the Republicans who treated him like a god. I voted for him in 2000, but stopped supporting him when he 1) invaded Iraq; 2) opened our borders; 3) pumped mortgage money to people with no credit — yes BUSH did this, not just Barney Frank!; and 4) expanded the debt and deficit to unheard of levels.
And I was denounced for opposing him. I was denounced by fellow republicans who suffered from a Bush Derangement of their own — a derangement that refused to view his administration honestly.
Everything I said then against him, Trump has said since. And many of the people who condemned me now don’t want to admit how supportive they were towards Bush.
I'm always telling people you can't beat "Rules for Radicals" with "Roberts Rules of Order".
A good many of the people I talk with are finally starting to understand that even though they were all for being "collegial" back when W was President.
Well before there was Trump Derangement Syndrome, there was Bush Derangement Syndrome.

Absolutely! George Bush would not defend himself, and by extension would not defend his policies and those of us who were trying to support him. I have no sympathy for him or his family.
What I’m trying to say here is that playing by Queensbury Rules is not going to make the Left like or even respect Trump.

It’s not going to make them like or respect _us_, either.
I was a Bush supporter. We all got played. We are having to wake up and accept that EVERYONE has been played for at least 100 years.
It’s like one of those dreams where you wake into a nightmare only to realize much later that the first awakening was still part of the original dream.
Not hardly.
You cannot compare Trump to anything about the Bush presidency especially the relentless attacks from every direction directed at Trump on an hourly bases. From foreign leaders, celebrities, both beltway parties, the FBI, CIA, the U.S. and international media et al. In fact, Bush was treated like royalty compared to the onslaught of attacks targeting Trump. And I certainly don’t recall our top intel and law enforcement agencies, State Department etc, attacking and attempting to undermine, compromise and overthrow Trump.
Correction...I certainly dont recall our top intel and law enforcement agencies, State Department etc, attacking and attempting to undermine, compromise and overthrow Bush.

.......
Yes, we were fooled by compassionate conservatism and a bunch of neocon lowlifes who self proclaim as conservatives.
