Well before there was Trump Derangement Syndrome, there was Bush Derangement Syndrome.
Yes, do we so easily forget that the Left utterly hated George W. Bush while mocking and attacking him pretty much every day of his presidency?
Of course, now that George W. Bush is out of power and an an anti-Trumper, he is suddenly a darling of the Left. Are we so easily fooled?
What I’m trying to say here is that playing by Queensbury Rules is not going to make the Left like or even respect Trump.
Not in the slightest.
So might as well fight.
Absolutely! George Bush would not defend himself, and by extension would not defend his policies and those of us who were trying to support him. I have no sympathy for him or his family.
“George Bush would not defend himself, and by extension would not defend his policies and those of us who were trying to support him”
Not quite. Many of his major policies could not be defended because they were wrong, they were bad.
1. Iraq War - as Trump says, a STUPID, DISASTROUS decision from day 1.
2. Open borders — no need to comment
3. Federal funding of no-credit homebuyers — DISASTROUS - and make no mistake, this was Bush’s policy along with Barney Franks. Help lead to the BIGGEST RECESSION since GREAT DEPRESSION.
4. Open-ended spending — led to biggest deficits ever by that time.
No, Bush’s problem wasn’t his supposed failure to defend policies, it was the policies themselves. He was a TERRIBLE president.
