I disagree with the premise of the article. I’m ardently pro-life, but as a practicing Catholic I’m also against the death penalty. I believe only God can take a life, with some exceptions such as war and self-defense. I don’t shed a tear when the state executes an inmate, but I wish there was a different way of dealing with these bad guys.
As a practicing Catholic, do you realize that Jesus Christ accepted His death penalty?

It is permissible to kill a criminal if this is necessary for the welfare of the whole community. If abortion was treated in the same way as capital punishment, there would only be a handful of abortions performed per year.
