I love a feel good story early in the morning:)
Stand your ground has been very narrowly defined in a lot of jurisdictions. I don't see an Obama appointee on the bench in Florida ruling it's okay to kill a knife-wielder in order to keep your vehicle from being stolen.
There's so much bull crap out there now about how defending yourself with a firearm and wounding or killing an assailant can ruin your life and get you jammed up in the justice system. This is nuts.
It's really troublesome. No doubt a lot of the false info out there is from organizations which are really left-wing mouthpieces masquerading as gun rights activists just trying to intimidate citizens into not defending themselves.
One of these groups is PrepareForAfter.com which has a pamphlet available online called: "Six Things You Didn't Know Would Happen After The Police Arrive".
It's not a fun read.
Good. This is what the left wants to take away from us. They want to take guns from non-violent citizens.
Until kommiefornians have their nefarious way with the state. It's already gone from decidedly red to a hint of purple.
Wow! The gun at her neck must be a very long gun.
Since the good guys far outnumber the bad guys, we’re better off if everyone carries at all times.
About Dean Weingarten:
Dean Weingarten has been a peace officer, a military officer, was on the University of Wisconsin Pistol Team for four years, and was first certified to teach firearms safety in 1973. He taught the Arizona concealed carry course for fifteen years until the goal of constitutional carry was attained. He has degrees in meteorology and mining engineering, and recently retired from the Department of Defense after a 30 year career in Army Research, Development, Testing, and Evaluation.
Indeed, however, federal law restricts young folks to supervised possession/operation of handguns until 19 YOA, some state have additional restrictions. Of course, in order to purchase a firearm from a FFL dealer, one has to be 21 YOA.

He reminded me of the time a slim woman, openly carrying, shot and killed a man who pressed a gun to her neck a few miles away.
Dude must have had some really long arms.

“Teenagers have the right of self defense, as do other citizens.”
My 19 year old son just renewed his CCP. The only thing that scares me more about him carrying is not carrying. I’m not worried that he would use a gun criminally, but the laws on self defense are so complicated I spend an inordinate amount of time studying them for myself.
I was under the assumption that you had to be 21 to own a hand gun! The way it works in Texas!
Here's my thinking in addition to that: This young man is 19. He has the rest of his life to live with the fact he shot and killed someone. Yes, it was justified and yes he had to defend himself. He was put in that position by some thug who didn't value this young man's life much less his own.
Who among us wants to live with having to take the life of another human being on their conscience, no matter how justified it was?
I just hope and pray I never have to pull my weapon to do the same thing. I'll shoot to save my own life (and anyone with me) just living with it has got to be horrible. My thoughts and prayers are with this young man.
Were they gentleman?
