Mueller issues clarification, takes back bombshell statement about indicting Trump

Robert Mueller kicked off his testimony before the House Intelligence Committee Wednesday afternoon by issuing a clarification of something he said during a morning hearing about his decision-making process when it came to the question of whether President Trump committed obstruction of justice.

Mueller raised eyebrows during an exchange with House Judiciary Committee member Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif.

“The reason that you did not indict the president is because of the OLC opinion that you cannot indict a sitting president, correct?” Lieu asked, referring to the Office of Legal Counsel’s long-held position against charging a president while they are in office.

“Correct,” Mueller replied.

That gave the impression that if it were not for the OLC opinion, Mueller would have indicted the president. In the afternoon, Mueller was quick to say that is not what he was trying to say at all.

“I want to add one correction to my testimony this morning," Mueller said. "I want to go back to one thing that was said this morning by Mr. Lieu, who said and I quote, ‘You didn’t charge the President because of the OLC opinion. That is not the correct way to say it. As we say in the report and as I said at the opening, we did not reach a determination as to whether the President committed a crime.”

Trump reportedly tweeted this, “I would like to thank the Democrats for holding this morning’s hearings”

Mueller could not remember the word conspiracy. The congressman had to help him out.

How could a so-called professional like Mueller with all the experience he has get this one question wrong? Maybe it’s true and Mueller is suffering from some type of senility issue. He really came across as a feeble confused old guy who was way over his head.

Too late now. Cat’s already out of the bag. That’s what the democrats and MSM will be repeating from now on. Probably done on purpose.

Right. No crime committed means no obstruction of justice.

Trump complaining about the investigation, nor his firing Comey stopped or interfered with the investigation. There was no obstruction.

That was deliberate.

He wanted to give the Democrats a sound bite they could use in 2020, while escaping any perjury charge himself.

That’s the third time Mule face changed the reason why he did not charge POTUS with obstruction!!!!

It’s laughable that today AGAIN Mule Face said he didn’t charge obstruction because of DOJ policy to not indict a sitting president.........then he came back within hours to “correct” his testimony.

BWAAHH HAH HAH HAH HAH!!!!

True. But if my scenario plays out, it could be their end, as we know it. If the President is re-elected and he gets to replace RBG, it’s over. Roberts is completely neutered. I think we could Breyer retire, given his age and the fact that it’s a 5-4 court for a while. He can then, safely replace Thomas. And if we’re really, really lucky, Sotomayor and all her health problems might just bounce, too, knowing that it’s futile.

However, I predict violence on a scale we’ve not seen before. The Left will not take it sitting down and it will get ugly. But, there’s ways to handle that as well, given the right motivation.

Hilarious, Mueller hadn’t even left the building and he’s already contradicting his statements.

Yeah, I saw the tweet.

Rubbing salt into a fresh wound.

What do you want to bet NONE of the “mainstream” Democrats utter the word “impeachment” again, except to ridicule those calling for it!?

this is just so much fun to watch unfold. I knew Dims we stupid, I just didn’t know they were this stupid.

So! Was Mueller lying in the morning, or in the afternoon?

I wonder if that was a planned error: Lie under oath, and then walk back the statement many hours later once it’s been broadcast thousands of times to inflame the insane left. Mueller is inept enough to do it by accident and treasonous enough to join in the coordinated effort to overthrow the elected President of the United States. Either way, this is disgusting - as we all expected.
