Fox News Anchor Chris Wallace called former special counsel Robert Mueller’s testimony a “disaster” for Democrats on Wednesday.
Wallace’s comments come as Mueller testifies before two House committees over his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and potential obstruction of justice by President Trump.
The “Fox News Sunday” host told anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum the hearing has been a disaster for the Democrats and the reputation of Mueller, saying the former FBI director "doesn't seem to know things that are in the report."
Mueller's testimony has been marked by stuttering and regularly asking committee members to repeat their questions. At one point, Mueller, referring to Trump, called him "Trimp." Oftentimes he looked confused and was slow to react.
Calling into account Mueller's performance, Wallace questioned the level of his involvement in the investigation.
"I think it does raise questions about the degree to which he actually was in charge of and in control of this report because he doesn’t seem very much in control or charge of what the final report was, I should say whether he was in charge of the investigation because he doesn’t seem in charge of what the report actually says," he added. Wallace supported his claim by citing Mueller's failure to defend himself and the integrity of his investigation.
"He’s been attacked a number of times and you would think that almost anybody else would have defended his own integrity, the integrity of the investigation," Wallace continued. "Over and over, Mueller just sits silent and lets the attacks from the Republicans to sweep over him and says nothing."
The president himself tweeted Wallace's remarks decrying the reputation of Mueller.

Mueller's sad performance is far from over. He is set to testify in front of the House Intelligence Committee today as well.

A presidential administration plants spies in the campaign of the opposing party candidate, concocts a phony “dossier” in order to provide a tissue thin basis for using the fell powers of government to harry and intimidate members of the opposing party’s campaign during the election, and to hinder the functioning of the opposing party after it is in office.

So what the heck happened to all of the people saying for SURE that the Dems “rehearsed” all the answers beforehand, and that this is all a big “set-up”?

That must really piss off Wallace. I’m sure he was hoping for a clear way to slam and impeach Trump.
Mueller was either play acting, or was just phoning it in the whole time. The guy looks ate up with the dumbass.

They are using an old prosecutorial trick. Asking questions that have been asked before, hoping to get a slightly different answer, and then claim that it proves guilt.
If they keep you talking long enough, they will find something. Maybe you used a synonym instead of the word that you used previously, and the synonym has a slightly different connotation: guilty!

They did rehearse w/ Mueller or it would have been even worse. The Dems had to know this would be a train wreck, so why have him appear? For the outside shot of a sound bite? Looks like GOP is getting the sound bites & with all the hype about him coming to testify, they can’t side step it.

Chris Wallace despises Donald Trump. I made the mistake of watching him last Sunday. Wallace kept reading part of Trump’s tweet about how the AOC squad should go back to where they came from. Wallace left out the next sentence of the tweet “Then they should come back an tell us how it is done.” Chris Wallace truly sucks.
The questioning on why he didn't indict certain non-Trump individuals was very damaging.
Yeah, Wallace is a prick. Every time I see his smug face, I want to slap him silly.

The 'rats apparently wrote a script of leading questions and convinced Weasel Mueller to say "Yes" every time.
