‘Enough is enough’: Warren officially introduces bill to cancel student debt

Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is tripling down on student debt.

In an announcement today along with House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn (D-SC), the presidential candidate announced the “Student Loan Debt Relief Act of 2019.”

Warren first pitched a student debt plan as a presidential candidate in April, and then again as a senator in June.

Taken together, Warren’s plans attack student debt in three ways: Cancelling debt, reforming the predatory — or “lousy” — student loan system that’s in place, and making college free for all.

The duo hopes that this would “end the student debt crisis,” on top of helping “millions of struggling families obtain financial stability” and closing the “racial wealth gap.” The move comes a day after Warren published a dire warning that the economy was in danger of collapsing.

So what about my kids who worked very hard to pay the loans off and are now debt free?

Do they get a reimbursement, or are they too white to count?

What the heck. The deficit next year is already projected to be over $1 trillion. What’s another trillion on top of that?

Buying votes by making lower income blue collar workers subsidize 4-6 year long luxury vacations for upper middle class whites.

She sure had no problem with her 6 figure salary from Harvard for teaching one class. How much did that add to the price of a Harvard education?

Shouldn’t those of us who have already paid off our student loans get a refund before they start forgiving the debt of those who have not?

You aren't going to stampede off the couch to vote Democrat for the first time in your life.

I want a Ferrari Debt Elimination Bill Passed.

I’ll be down at my local Ferrari Dealer signing the Loan Papers on a 2020 SF90 Stradale right before the Vote.

“Peanuts. What is stopping her from introducing a bill to cancel the national debt.”

Not far enough. I think she should cancel all debt, everywhere. After all, it would be racist to do it just for Americans.

While she’s at it, she could put $1M in the bank for every man, woman, non gender specific, and child in the world.

Now that would be progressive.

Can I get a refund on that?

I made my kids go to state universities that we could afford and work their way through college so that they would graduate without any debt.

Boy do I feel like a rube.

“I bet the house actually passes this.

So they can all run against the EEEEEVIL Republicans who killed it in the Senate.”

Why wouldn’t they? The left has so successfully dumbed down the population that most under 40 have no real understanding of government or economics.

Just cut everyone in the country a check for $100,000 and call it a day.

I’m surprised none of the candidates have thought of this.

Why not pay and earn your own College bills? Does Warren feel guilty she gamed the system.

Wait until various parts of the business community start to line-up in support of this.

Realtors and automakers in particular would absolutely LOVE to see Millenials with a fresh surge in disposable income.

We’re laughing, but once this had entered the mainstream I fear it will be hard to stop.

Why stop there Elizabeth? Why not call for federalization of ALL colleges and universities (including Harvard etc)? Then why not confiscate their endowments and substantially reduce the salaries of the faculty and administrators - to better facilitate ‘free’ tuition?

Hey Warren- you are discriminating against home owners with mortgages- Why not cancel our debts too? While you’re at it, hows about cancelling all our credit card debts too? It’s only fair- we shouldn’t have to pay off massive debt because it is hurting us- we can’t advance as fast as we’d like because of debt- so hows about it? Have you no mercy? (I don’t have credit card debt- but if you promise to cancel all debt, I’ll go out and get a bunch of cards and max em out- after all, money is free- grows on trees- and magically appears whenever we need it- so promise away- Cripes!)
