Government at all levels undermines the cops when blactivists condemn cops doing their jobs; even justified shootings are questioned/criticized, and often the government sides with the alleged “victim” (criminal). That slob Eric Garner’s mother collected a big settlement from the city even though nobody was ever convicted of any wrongdoing; he broke the law, resisted arrest, the cop was cleared of any criminal act - and she still “got paid”.
Even Obama chimed in, second-guessing cops who were eventually cleared of any wrongdoing (see Henry Gates arrest - “police acted stupidly”). When the president makes it clear that race supersedes all other factors, then there is no point in pretending police can do their jobs.
I have no problem pouncing when cops do wrong (the shooting of a young man in a dark stairwell in NYC was just outright murder, and treated as such), but when cops think doing their jobs will result in the loss of their jobs, pensions, even freedom - they just “stand down”. This is exactly why the black urban areas are now war zones - and everyone else is just content to let them tear each other apart there rather than in our neighborhoods.

These cops allowed themselves to be assaulted while not taking enforcement action and they should be held accountable. By walking away, they are only encouraging more scumbags to attack police. Back in the day a (10-13) assist officers, would have been called and the perpetrators would have been arrested.
I’m trying to imagine the reaction from one of Frank Rizzo’s Philly cops to this type of nonsense.....
These ghetto people don’t seem to understand that the police they so despise are the only thing protecting them from the large number of working Americans that would simply exterminate them if it were legal.

And the news media, by reporting “water” was thrown was putting the best face on it - it was “just” water.
Who tested and determined it was water? And was it “pure” water?
The officers walked away whipped. They literally turned their back on the attackers as the attackers were rushing up to do what they were going to do. The police gave up any appearance of situational awareness. This is what gets police seriously hurt.
It looks like the police were following orders. This is on city leadership.
Once the Democrats have eliminated the Republican party you will see PLENTY of police all over the place all the time!
