Yes, this “trope” business started to show up suddenly last week - I heard it first from Mara Liason on Fox, but apparently the talking points memo went out to all the MSM and other political operatives - according to the thugs it means “you’re criticizing them for something unrelated, but we really know you hate them because of their race” - to me the trope is a trope for “we know you’re criticizing them for something unrelated but we’re too stupid to come up with any sort of reasonable counterargument, so we’re going to say instead that you really hate them because of their race and that should make you back off and beg for forgiveness” - they have their tropes, we have ours........

My ancestors left Ireland in 1854. They didn't come here to be the Irish in America. They came here to be Americans. Served this nation from 1861(Army Of The Potomac) to 1865. Did it again in 1918 and then again from 1941 to 1945,(ETO and the Pacific , US Navy, Marine Corps and the Army,and Korea from 1951-53 and in peace time too. They never had any complaints, only gratitude, pride of place , love of God and country. I got no complaints, never had and never will. America. Love it or leave it.

Having seen several of Washington's quotes he appears to me to have been a very deep,very thoughtful,and very intelligent man. And to think that he lived during a time when black people were,in fact,being routinely mistreated....*badly* mistreated.

I don't know about you but "To Kill A Mockingbird" is just about my favorite book...and film...and has been since I was assigned to read it about 55 or 60 years ago. Even though it is,strictly speaking,fiction there's evidence that things of that sort were even happening in the 1930s.
