There's no way that China can give Washington the trade deal it wants. Tariffs are the only instrument left for addressing China's systematic and excessive surpluses on its U.S. trades.

This guy gets it.
Yes. President Trump, it is time to stand up for AMERICAN companies, for a change.
Long, long overdue in fact.
You ran on this issue, and you won on this issue.
Mr. President, it has been two and a half YEARS since then.
It is time.
Long, long overdue, actually.
Trump is a business man and as such understands better than any so called pundit thgetting the deal he “wants” was never going to happen. Negotions, successful negotiations are all about both sides coming away with something.
Of course the media will paint any outcome not 100% favorable to America as a loss for Trump. Even if Trump did get all he wanted it would simply be ignored.
“Yes. Yes. Yes.
This guy gets it. ...”
You can’t be serious!! ROFL
The guy supposedly ‘gets it’ because the article insists the trouble with China is solely over trade imbalances?
Um, what about the ongoing intellectual property (IP) theft, forced technology transfers, forced ‘joint ventures’. non-tariff trade barriers, currency manipulation, etc. etc.?
The part you’re right about is that Trump’s actions are long overdue, but what Trump “gets” is that in all the above ways, our financial relationship with China has been about China getting stronger by being unchallenged by one President after another.
Oh I COMPLETELY agree with you.
100%.
Have for years. The problem is, every American has been jumping in the China bed, for the last 27 years.
Everyone. Democrats. Republicans. Our media
Our business leaders. Our... Presidents. Our lawmakers. Our educators.
EVERYONE.
Trump ran on this issue. Trump WON on this issue.
He needs to stand up for America.
Stop selling out to China.
For real.
Stop.
“Yes. President Trump, it is time to stand up for AMERICAN companies, for a change.”
Because God knows he hasn’t.... /s
Um, did you ever read PDJT’s Buy American EO?
Executive Order 13788 of April 18, 2017
He issued another in January. EO 13858 of January 31, 2019,
strengthening Buy-American Preferences for Infrastructure Projects.
The guy does get it. Common sense is contagious.
Don’t expect Free Traitors to ever get it.
The tariff is the best way to stand up to world wide mercantilism perpetrated against the USA that you Free Traitors seem to be in love with.
If tyou are so smart, why ain’t you rich?
Oh so only the opinion of the "rich" matters to an insect like you... Oh I get it.
The White House July 15, 2019
Its all about Made in America
Its Made in America Day, and President Donald J. Trump celebrated by hosting his third annual Made in America Showcasean exhibition on the White House lawn of manufacturers from all 50 states.
Washington used to say these jobs werent coming back. They were wrong! Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham tweeted this afternoon.
Watch: Handmade motorcycles straight from Americas heartland!
President Trump is making sure that Americans own Federal Government continues to put them first, as well. Earlier today, he signed an executive order to strengthen requirements under the Buy American Act, which creates a preference for American-made goods in important Federal purchases.
The philosophy of my Administration is simple: If we can build it, grow it, or make it in the United States, we will, he said.
Businesses both big and small and from a wide range of industries showcased their incredible work at the White House today. On display were Zippo lighters made in Pennsylvania, Airstream trailers made in Ohio, Buck Knives made in Idaho, and Nokona baseball gloves made in Texas.
When we choose American-made, something truly wonderful happens: Our communities thrive and flourish, our neighborhoods bustle with commerce, our children dream bigger and bolder, and the bonds of loyalty that unite us as citizens become closer, the President said.
President Trump is ushering in a new age of American manufacturing as factories roar back to life and blue-collar workers thrive. Manufacturing job growth soared to a more than two-decade high in 2018, bringing opportunity to communities that had been left behind. The future looks even brighter: Manufacturer optimism has skyrocketed under President Trump, reaching a new record high last year.

At this point theres probably enough time to expect US businesses to have shifted more of their supply chain away from China. So given negotiations are at a standstill, time to hit em with another round of tariffs.
“that you Free Traitors seem to be in love with.”
Who are you even talking to here?
“Yes. President Trump, it is time to stand up for AMERICAN companies, for a change.”
And it’s long past time for the anti-American pr!cks who run most of America’s companies to get there a$$es out of China, a built their stuff here. And FWIW the worst of the lot is AT&T with their “off-shore call centers” and their cozy relationship with Waiwei. They should change their name to AAT&T (Anti-American Telephone & Telegraph). We just cancelled both our U-verse Internet and DirecTV and went to Comcast for both. And you know what, the pr!cks at AT&T did, they sent us “prepaid credit cards” (one for $5 and another for $30) to cover our refunds. They have absolutely no shame the way they do business! And the “new AT&T” is headquartered in Texa$$ and used to be called SBC Communications.
“Who are you even talking to here?”
Probably the “cheap foreign $hit Republicans,” any number of whom post here. You don’t really think that ALL American companies are run by RATs do you?
The voices in his head.
So are you ok with $800B annual trade deficits and putting up with the mercantilism that the WTO and rest of the word practices against the USA? If so then you are Free Traitor
