CNN's Democratic debate live drawing finished third in the cable news ratings race last night, attracting 1.03 million viewers according to early Nielsen Media Research.
In the 8 p.m. EDT hour, "Tucker Carlson Tonight" finished first among the three major cable news channels with more than 3.2 million viewers and 497,000 in the 25- to 54-year-old demographic prized by advertisers.
MSNBC's "All In with Chris Hayes" took second with 1.66 million viewers, followed by CNN for the debate drawing special. In the younger demographic, MSNBC delivered 239,000 viewers while CNN took in 223,000 in the category.
The debates will take place on July 30 and 31 in Detroit.
The live drawing over the full hour produced a rematch of 2020 Democratic front-runner and former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) that will take place on the second night.
Biden and Harris clashed in the first Democratic primary debate on NBC, MSNBC and Telemundo on June 17, ultimately resulting in improved polling numbers for Harris.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) will also face off for the first time against Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) on July 30.
All the viewers are in AIRPORTS!
Wonder how many will watch the next debate comedy show?
How many non-airport viewers (by “airport” I mean all involuntary viewers of CNN, including workplaces run by commie socialists), is what I want to know
When De Blasio vs Williamson turns into De Blasio bashing Biden it’s going to be fun to watch CNN try to keep him on topic with Williamson.
Is Chris Hayes on PMSNBC the Transgender Sister of Rachel Madcow?
Both less than 1 % of the population. Three times nothing is still nothing.
The Dem debate drawing was last night? Gosh, how did I miss that?
Gotta wonder how long Warner will put up with CNN. Their advertising revenues must be plummeting and it seems, by now, CNN must be losing money.
What debate?? They had another one???
L8r
The CNN audience...also known as Boarding Group 3.
What drawing?
I flew out of O’Hare Terminal One this AM and CNN was on at my gate. You would never know it because the sound was muted. I doubt if you could hear it at any other gate.
Which airport?
CNN & MSNBC. All the biggest
Snooze of the day.
What DMV?
The real question is how many people will watch the debates.
I think they said the previous one had a very large audience.
And of course the important thing is, how many will turn out to vote, not just in the primary, but in the actual presidential election.
I hope they will all be smart enough and vote to reelect pres. Trump, who has done a lot for everyone, in his work to MAGA.
with the volume off!
It’s worse than that.
I didn’t even know there was a debate.
The stock market is rocketing and jobs are everywhere and salaries are increasing.
It would be a FIRST in history ANYWHERE, I would imagine, where things are going SO GREAT and the people decide “hey, we don’t like all this extra money”
