Trump-haters are rejoicing in what they see as a major fissure separating President Trump from his base over the Greenville, North Carolina rally's crowd chants of "send her back!" CNN carefully counted out 13 seconds between the beginning of the chant and Trump's resumption of his speech, thereby pinning responsibility for the chant on Trump.
So, when Trump stated his disagreement with the sentiment, after being asked about it during an impromptu Oval Office media availability…

It is necessary that President Trump avoid any appearance of being responsible for persecuting her. Instead, he must keep hands off the DoJ and hands off any effort to expel Omar.
Omar has committed serious felonies that should result in her being imprisoned and/or deported. The media are now working to make her seem like a victim of racism and President Trump.
That is the reason for the media overreaction to the 13 second "send her back" chant. That is the reason why President Trump does not support the chant.
I speculated about this one yesterday. But if it doesn’t happen in the near future, Trump shouldn’t have been walking back those sentiments from the crowd.

I have to assume that the Department of Justice has opened an investigation into these matters. If it hasn't, there is something wrong. Whether or not this is true, no true Trump supporter is going to mind Trump “disavowing” the chant. In the big scheme of things, it is such a minor point.
So what? So did Hillary.
Omar isn't going anywhere. At best, she'll resign. Second best, she'll be defeated next election.
Trump should distance himself from that change. It’s one thing to say if you don’t love America, you are free to leave America. Nothing wrong with that.
It’s another to demand forcible deportation of someone without legal grounds.
Establish the legal grounds first.
They tried and tried to get something damaging on Trump and couldn’t find anything, so they are trying this nonsense.
But I hope most people, even many registered Dems, are smart enough to not fall for this and look at the facts: Trump is indeed working for us, all of us, to Make America Great Again for everyone.
13 seconds? Really, in a room that large with that many voices echoing, it would have taken me longer than that to figure out what they were saying.
Sounds reasonable to me. Trump is on the winning side of this issue right now.

Does everyone know the chanting took place for only 13 seconds? Trump doesn’t control what the attendees spontaneously decide to join in and chant.
Sometimes those chants are not well thought out. They are expressions of frustration at what is taking place, seemingly with no repercussions at all. As such, they aren’t exactly an accurate expression of how we all think on this.
It would have been more accurate to state, “America, Love it or Leave It!” This would have covered all four of these Bs, since three were actually born here. Couldn’t tell it from their lack of loyalty.
As for the nit-wit that married her brother, this chant was 100% dead on target.

Very long article says Omar was a divisive factor in the Somali community. Many Somali Muslims refused to back her because she was backed first by white progressives, LGBT & Jews.
