Turkey has become a most perfidious partner both militarily and economically. Recep Tayyip Erdogan fancies himself the head of the restored Ottoman Empire, and intends to establish the Caliphate that ISIS could not.

For this, he would gladly accept aid from the Russian Federation. Regardless of the consequences in the relationship with the US.

He also gets to butcher the Christians and Kurds.

Not well known but Turkey is not just getting a batch of S-400 units but the license to manufacture them and ... AND the S-500 system, while negotiations are ongoing for the purchase of SU-57s.

How does this fit into Bible prophecy?

Erdogan is neither a clown nor an idiot. He is a deadly serious Islamic dictator willing to kill thousands of his fellow Turks to aggrandize his power.

Erdogan is undoing the secular reforms of Kemal Ataturk in order to use Sharia to reinforce his Islamist regime.

Erdogan’s military & the Turkish economy are powerful enough to acquire sophisticated Russian missiles and to encourage the Russians to treat him as an equal in the region.

Erdogan will be stopped by nothing to convert Hagia Sophia into a mosque once again.

Erdogan’s only serious rival is the memory of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk himself, enshrined in the mausoleum that is a Turkish national symbol, which reinforces the spirit of Ataturk’s secularism.

Erdogan’s chief ally is the dark region of eastern Turkey & Anatolia, where grim primitive Islam holds sway.

Erdogan’s only other rival is the city of Istanbul and its secular Europe-leaning culture & population.

I was in Turkey from 1971 to 1973. It was a strange place back then, and not terribly friendly to Americans, though it appears it is much worse now with Erdogan at the helm.

“How does this fit into Bible prophecy?”

Turkey, stretching east into Central Asia, is the heartland of Gog and Magog.

How is it that a NATO country is allowed to buy all of that from a non-NATO country? Aren’t there rules for NATO countries to abide by?

I asked a question earlier, but I found the answer. NATO approved the sale. Hope it blows up in their face...literally.

Turkey is House of Togarmah

Iran, of course, is Persia

Some of us (me) believe Magog is Russia.

They’ll all be friends against Israel one of these days when the time comes.

Libya, Put or Phut, must be in alliance. We’re not seeing much out of Libya, at least in the news. I’d say Barack and Hillary further destabilized Libya (Captain Obvious).

Ethiopia may not be current Ethiopia. Some have suggested Sudan. Sudan is where Israel sent planes, remarkably, to bomb several years ago to stop weapons being transported through there.

I’m surprised there wasn’t more of an outrage over that one. Israel having to bomb in another country.

I’d like to see a day when we disengage from the Sunnis in the entire region (Turkey, SA, Pakistan, etc.) and have relations with the Kurds and Persians. But I don’t think it will ever happen.
