Netflix Shares Plunge After Subscribers Slump
Breitbart ^ | July17,2019 | JOHN CARNEY

Investors did not like what they saw in Netflix’s second-quarter results.

Shares of the company plunged by more than 11 percent in after-hours trading following the company’s release of data on new subscriptions that fell short of Wall Street expectations and company guidance.

Netflix added 2.7 million subscribers in its second quarter, down from about 6 million new subscribers in last year’s second quarter and well below the 5 million or so expected. The company actually lost about 130,000 domestic subscriptions in the second quarter. Internationally, the company added 2.83 million subscribers, well below the consensus forecast of 4.81 million.

Prior to the stock’s reaction to the quarterly results, Netflix had been an investor favorite, rising more than 35 percent in 2019.

Despite the disappointing subscription numbers, revenue jumped to $4.92 billion, which was only slightly below estimates. Profit fell to $270 million from $384.3 million a year ago.

What will kill Netflix is Disney's new Disney+ streaming service and AT&T's new HBO Max service, both of which will be fully up and running by Spring 2020.

I’m about ready to drop Netflix myself. There’s just nothing much good on it anymore. Almost all their original programming is SJW crap.

I have an account with Netflix cuz my mom loves old movies so I get her what she deserves(good son excuse)

But I did cut in half the movies we take out(my share) because of the abortion stand Netflix is supporting.

Mom understands and is supportive.
So let Netflix suffer for their idiotic tromp into politics.

Eventually it will go the way of music. You can buy a single song now. Make it so we can buy a single episode of a series, then we can decide after one or two episodes to buy the season or series.

Movies are easy enough for us. We wait until something’s in walmart’s $5 dvd bin.

If people wanted it earlier, they could come up with streaming a movie the same day it comes out on DVD but make it a couple of bucks cheaper. They could go further and allow watching 20 minutes of it before we choose to buy.

Well, maybe not families in the sense we believe, but it will be big for the Epstein’s, Clinton’s and Obama’s of the world.

Those who have access to Amazon Prime should take a glance at the series “Comrade Detective”. It was shown in Romania in 1980 as a anti Capitalist tv show, but when watching, you see the humor and anti Communist hints. The premise is explained at the very beginning, showing how it was recovered and made in English language.

One scene as an example showed a “Crime Board” with pictures of possible suspects in the murder of a police officer all connected with lines and then at the very top they put a picture of Ronald Reagan.

Actually the price went up to pay for the content the were getting from other studios. And the DVD thing was just to make money for the stream thing. That’s why it’s called netflix.

LIBERAL movies and and ideas are all that will be out there.

Afraid you’re correct.

Ever wonder why these streaming services don’t stream all the public-domain content they can get their hands on? If it’s free, why not?

The problem is all that public domain content is really old so no homos and too pro-America. Our globalist masters don’t want us watching that stuff.

Expect all those public domain TV and movies to be scrubbed from YouTube at any time.

There’s nothing wrong with DVDs even today. In fact the cheapest way is checking out the DVDs from your local library. Many localities have reciprocity agreements that expands your selection.

Because it’s not free. Oh sure it’s free to acquire. But you still gotta put it on your hard drives. Still gotta add it to your catalog. Still gotta maintain all that. And you go through all that work just to compete with all the free places to get the same content from. There’s simply no margin in it.

.....” most of there in house stuff is not for families”....

And even those are crowded out with Black,Asian,Arab,India and other foreign cheap films with horrible actors! Ten seconds in and you switch it off.

It all changed when the Obamas got their sticky diversity fingers in the pie.

With all the perverts in Hollywood they can make an unlimited number of movies—at this point you can’t trust anything the studios produce.

Anyone who thinks these corporations only care about money is naive.

Macy’s, Target, Twitter, Facebook: All have suffered financially for political machinations. Netflix is just another leftist hive mind.

It is just a matter of time before the “thought police” start getting rid of “hateful” books, DVDs etal at local libraries.

Count on it.

Amazing ... and they throw a price increase at us when they are losing market share. (Great marketing, not).

Interestingly, when I cancelled, they asked me “Why?”
I responded “Obama”.

I gave them the exact same one-word answer.
