The jokes about laying a supply of popcorn are everywhere on the right, as the most powerful elected Democrat and the most-publicized purported symbol of the party’s future tear into each other. It’s been brewing a long time, starting with an Ocasio-Cortez-led sit-in outside Nancy Pelosi’s Capitol office a week after the bartender from the Bronx was elected to Congress, two months before she assumed office. Elle Magazine recaps the development of the squabble ever since that bad start. Along with fellow female freshmen Rashida Tlaib, Ayanna Presley, and Ilhan Omar – a group that Pelosi has dubbed “the squad” – Ocasio-Cortez has been advocating farther- and farther-left positions that Pelosi fears would lead to electoral disaster in 2020.
Wednesday, at a House Democratic Caucus meeting, Pelosi laid down the law. From the WaPo:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi admonished Democrats for personally attacking one another, warning in a closed-door meeting Wednesday that the party’s fracturing was jeopardizing its majority.
Without naming names, her target was clear: the four liberal freshman known as “the Squad.”
“You got a complaint? You come and talk to me about it. But do not tweet about our members and expect us to think that that is just okay,” Pelosi (D-Calif.) told Democrats.
But “the Squad” — Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.), Ilhan Omar (Minn.), Rashida Tlaib (Mich.) and Ayanna Pressley (Mass.) — is convinced it is Pelosi who is being the bully.
The four are struggling with the speaker’s moves to isolate them in recent weeks, according to interviews with the lawmakers, congressional aides and allies. Pelosi has made at least half-dozen remarks dismissing the group or their far-left proposals on the environment and health care.

The only thing that makes Republicans look good is the Democrats.
Not a real good strategy, since 99% of America can't vote for her even if they want to.
AOC can’t run for President yet so she wants to be Speaker and be Number 3 ,LOL
Part of me loves this precisely because the kids refuse to play by the old folks’ rules. Pelosi et al assume they are due the deference they always get, and AOC and the others are thumbing their noses.
Popcorn, indeed!
Left and left out. You’re too old Nancy. You can’t keep up. Go home and eat your applesauce. It’s really obvious. You’re having processing problems. Don’t speak.

I think its the typical case of the entitlement mentality of the millennials. Go to your workplace and youll have some young person whos full of ideas, which theyre not aware are full of s**t, who thinks they know more and can do a better job of running things than the older people in charge! In this case you have two morons who think the other moron is more moronic than them!
AOC has become the most important Democrat in the House in 6 months, why would she stop or change anything?
Imagine how much the rank and file Rats who have been playing the game for years must resent her. The only threat to her is from her own Party. They ought to be able to defeat her at primary even if they rely on cheating to do it.
Other salvos between Nancy Pelosi and Cortez.
Nancy: “AOC is just a commie crack whore!”
AOC: “Nancy is just a dried up [expletive] who [expletive] on Joe Biden’s [expletive].”
Nancy: “AOC needs to [expletive] on [expletive]!”
AOC: “[expletive][expletive][expletive][expletive], Nancy!”
Nancy: “[expletive][expletive][expletive][expletive], AOC!”
My thoughts exactly. I don’t believe for one minute there’s anything organic or unplanned about this “act” of rebellion by these broads. At all.
I don’t think this is a strategy. I really think the Democrats are losing control of themselves.
This is Bernie and Hillary from 2016 all over again.
A lot of the Democrat base consists of rabble-rousers who really want radical change. But the DNC shafted Bernie and supported Hillary who is all about money and power. In that sense, Hillary is more (small c) conservative than the rabble-rousers. Hillary is the Establishment. She likes things the way they are, because she can work that system like a wizard. Nancy is exactly the same way.
For us, it is similar. As a (big C) Conservative, I am disappointed in much of the Republican Party. They are RINOs. They are the Establishment, They care about money and power. They like things the way they are because they can work the current system like wizards.
For Conservatives, Trump is the breath of fresh air. He wants real change. He wants this country to be what it was intended to be. Most Conservatives feel that if the RINOS continue to oppose Trump, the GOP will die.
Over on the Left side, AOC is — in a way — their Trump. She’s bold. She’s aggressive. She doesn’t back down. (She’s insane with horrible ideas, but that’s not the point). If Nancy Pelosi and the Democrat Establishment give AOC the shaft — like they did Bernie in 2016 — a lot of their base will be unhappy.
I don’t see a good outcome for the Democrats with this fight.
The Republicans are doing the right thing, by staying out of this...at the appropriate time, it won't matter who's right between Pelosi and AOC; the GOP should paint it as a dysfunctional and radical group that has no business being in the Congressional majority.
“...farther- and farther-left positions that Pelosi fears would lead to electoral disaster in 2020....”
THAT train left the station already!!
I agree that it is Kabuki, but the audience is the TDS crowd... red meat (tofu) for the snow flake boobs in place of the reality that this congress has done absolutley nothing.
Recently I saw them more correctly referred to as "The Four Morons of the Apocalypse".
The only reason AOC and friends have any influence is because the Fake News gives them so much attention, little of it critical (though that may be changing due to the fact they have upset the sacrosanct Congressional Black Caucus). Why this should be so escapes me. Four novice lawmakers who really should be considered insignificant backbenchers, and yet...Something smells fishy about this, especially when it comes to AOC.
