If the government were to require that only men or only women had to pay a tax of several hundred dollars a year solely because of their sex, that would be an unconstitutional denial of equal protection under the 14th Amendment. Yet that is exactly the effect of the so-called tampon tax.

LOL. Doesnt everybody?
Men die 10 years earlier than women.
What do we tax?
Actually, gender IS an abstract concept. That’s why people have a sex, not a gender. THINGS have a gender.
You lose the language battle, you lose the war.
There is a tax on condoms, a tax on birth control pills, everything pretty much has a tax on it. So the solution is simple, do away with sales taxes and we all will be happy.
I just checked Wal-Mart on line, tampons can be bought for $9.27. Here in NM, the sales tax is 5.125%, sales tax is 48 cents. I have that much in change floating around in my truck!
Bras will be next.
buying the gold plated designer tampons, apparently .. more probable explanation = this is just more insane bullshite from the leftards.
There should be no tax on tampons. Period.
Oh, just shove it up your c........um, never mind. Not going there. In any way. Nope.
I saw what you did there..........
This must be the Fox News Coverage.
CNN would say: “Far right agitators pollute Boston Harbor with medical supplies needed for children and the elderly.”
If they don’t want to pay the tax, don’t buy the product! It is California and who will notice?
OR, you can buy dish towels and make a breech clout, as they did in the olden days.
Seems the Kenyans tanning bed tax was ok...
Not even a monthly charge?
But somehow taxing my property is?
What happened to the whole “taxes are the price of civilization”?
Men can menstruate too.
But taxing wheelchairs *IS* Constitional- see Obamacare.
Believe it or not, there are several online articles about the issue of tampons in modern society and taxing them in particular.
I read the article from the Washington Post since I figured that they would have a sympathetic bent. It took me almost to the end of the article to find out that a box of tampons costs about $7. I assume that one box per month would be adequate/ If a 10% tax were applied, that would be $.70 cents per month. Some of the most hysterical speech stated that women would pay a ‘gender penalty’ of hundreds of dollars over a life time.
Well, OK. If the women are really up in arms about this, the best thing men can do is to STFU. Do you really want to talk about logic or insignificance of .70 in the bigger scheme of things to a woman with PMS? Good luck on that, Mate?
Me, I think I’ll have another beer.
