A State Department intelligence official who was blocked by the White House from submitting written congressional testimony on climate change last month is resigning from his post.
Rod Schoonover — who worked in the Bureau of Intelligence and Research’s Office of the Geographer and Global Issues — spoke before the House Intelligence Committee on June 5 about the security risks the United States faces because of climate change. But White House officials would not let him submit the bureau’s written statement that climate impacts could be “possibly catastrophic,” after the State Department refused to cut references to federal scientific findings on climate change.
Individuals familiar with the matter, who asked for anonymity to speak frankly, said Schoonover is leaving voluntarily. But the incident that led to his departure underscores the extent to which climate science has become contested terrain under the current administration.
Andrew Rosenberg, who directs the Center for Science and Democracy at the Union of Concerned Scientists, said in a phone interview Wednesday that federal experts should be free to provide their expertise with policymakers, even if it is at odds with the views of whoever occupies the Oval Office.

LEARN TO CODE
To become semi Eco believable, rich and elite liberal mediots and politicians should have to give away any vehicles they have. They must eschew any and all items that are derived in any way shape or from petro products. EVERYTHING!
Then, they can only walk or ride a bike from now on. No evil Uber or cabs or limos can be used.
No more plane rides, only Greyhound or Amtrak can be used, with a limit of 150 miles per year.
They must turn off the electricity to their homes/offices and the gas needed to heat their homes and offices.
If they build and pay for solar power, they can only use their own electricity produced at that time and no evil batteries for night time or rainy/winter/no sun day use.
Responding cops, firemen and EMTs must use horse drawn vehicles to respond to help these rectums. Of course the cops can’t have firearms.
Liberal hospitals can’t have electricity nor gas for heat. They can only provide a single blanket if needed. During hot summer only windows can be opened and only hand powered fans can be used.
Of course, they would have to give up their Apple phones/I pads and I Macs since those were made with evil carbon power.
They could only use old plugin phones to plug into land line phone sockets. We can salvage the old Princess phones for them. No evil cell phones and towers will be allowed.
Their staff members have to live with the above rules.
Then, they can only eat what they raise or what they can steal from their neighbors.
When the above happens to all of them in Congress and our state capitols, we might listen to them if they keep doing the above for one term with a one term limit.
The government elites and mediots from the Ny Slimes and ABCNNBCBS will die off after the first month.
The agency he worked for sounds unnecessary. Let the whole department go and sell the property.
My scientific thoughts on the matter:
The climate changes all the time.
The world is a dangerous place, so we should be ever vigilant.
