One by one, they had trickled out of the conference room on the 25th floor of Trump Tower. It was Friday, October 7, 2016, two days before the second presidential debate, and the Republican nominee’s brain trust had spent the morning running a carefully simulated rehearsal session. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, playing the role of Hillary Clinton, was stationed adjacent to his opponent at a conference table; Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, acting as the moderator, was positioned directly across from Donald Trump. The rest of the observers—press secretary Hope Hicks, campaign chief executive Steve Bannon, campaign manager Kellyanne Conway, deputy campaign manager David Bossie, son-in-law Jared Kushner and the nominee’s children, among a few others—listened critically, offering occasional feedback.
Hicks had left the room first. The rest of the team, more glued to their smartphones than usual, began taking turns excusing themselves. Priebus, Christie and Trump pushed onward with the debate prep. Finally, looking up and realizing that it was only the three of them remaining, Priebus paused the proceedings. “OK,” he told Trump. “When the entire staff leaves the room, something’s up.”

I predicted this exact media response to the Epstein situation in 24 hours. It only took 20 hours.

And then.
Trump held his press conference with Clinton’s victims.
And then.
He went after the Clintons in the second debate like I HAD BEEN WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO DO FOR 24 F%?!@!@*! YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And when that debate was over, I made the largest contribution of my entire political life. By several decimal points. (I suspect I was not alone).
“He may lose, but he’s gonna go down fighting!!! And that’s all we can ask for!!!” I told my wife.
And THAT, as Paul Harvey used to say, IS THE REST OF THE STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank God Trump didn’t back down when all those ‘smarter’ folks were telling him he should.
Trump sucks every molecule of oxygen out of the leftists goals and objectives. Not one breath of legislative process is left after the Trump Derangement Squads spend it all on "Get Trump". Stupid fools.
I have many times done what he described with women I was intimate with, and more. No one ever said a word. And I’m ugly, fat and broke.

Claim anything. Whatever happened to bearing false witness, defamation, libel, slander or any other thing that is decent.
What I recall of this time was Ryan, and a few others bailing on Trump.
But, we all learned after this, that nothing was going to take Trump down, and secondly, it opened up the mad dog in him.
This guy Bush had taped the conversation, probably Trump didn’t know he was being taped. Who knows.
Bottom line, Trump never looked back after that debate, and worked his tail off.
The GOP, the Dems, Hillary all laughed and mocked Trump thinking he’d be swept big time.
But we all know the outcome.
Yes, the loons relive this moment with dreams of “what might have been” and they’ll do this forever.
Guess they never existed.
I came to the conclusion all those “Republican Strategists” have to some deree been playing for the other side for decades. Nothing else adequately explains it. I mean, the donors demand open borders and the rest of it, still.
If Christie, Priebus and Trump were the only ones left in the room...where did Tim Alberta get this account from?
That reminds me, time to contribute to Trump’s re-election.
I wish they would sort out the “TRUTHS” when they make up these articles. Such a pain in the butt tgrying to find verification.
