Why would he work for a client to help get these records unsealed if they contained evidence of wrongdoing on his part?

So he could bury that evidence.

Nothing beats being an insider when it comes to crimes and cover ups.

Huh? Once the evidence in a court case is unsealed it becomes a matter of public record. It doesn’t get unsealed just so the plaintiff seeking access to the records can take all the originals home and burn them.
