A player on the U.S. women’s national soccer team intentionally dropped the American flag on the ground during post-victory celebrations after the team’s big win against the Netherlands in the World Cup final on Sunday.
Midfielder Allie Long initially dragged the flag on the ground, and when she turned toward a camera to pose alongside Megan Rapinoe and Alex Morgan, she dropped the flag at her feet for the photo op and can be seen stepping on it.
The moment prompted a social media firestorm as users called out Long for the disrespectful act during a moment of American celebration.
Benghazi hero John “TIG” Tiegen pointed out that the blunder happened despite the fact that players were briefed on proper flag etiquette.
“I know dragging it on the ground and throwing it down like it’s a piece of paper isn’t part of that. It’s not hard to hand it off and celebrate. Your coaching staff or trainers are there to take it. Damn Amazing disrespect for a photo op,” he wrote, addressing Long, then adding a thank-you to O’Hara for picking up the flag.

I saw the video. It was NOT intentional. She had it wrapped around her in the excitement of celebrating it Fell OFF. When that happened another team mate picked it up. Come on, there is enough for us to get our underwear in a knot than to get all wound up over this.

I have not seen the video (yes I admit it).
Having said that, more than a few of these snowflakes on that team have expressed disdain for America and what it used to stand for. They are hardly innocent when it comes to provoking.
Oh bullcrap. She dragged it on the ground without a thought. Then she dropped it so she could that gorilla looking dance. And if it was accidental, she would have immediately picked it up. Instead she shuffled it out of the way with her feet and continued the National Geographic dance with the lesbo.

- ZeroCare is still on the books
- Asylum laws are far too lenient
- Nothing is being done about post-election vote harvesting
- Motor-voter is rampantly corrupt and allows non-citizens to vote

Look at the video and tell me it was an “accident”. The only way you can see it as an accident is being so enamored with them that you cannot ever see them doing wrong.
She was dragging it, then it was time to do this odd looking dance. She let it go and then two of them actually walked on it kicking it as they moved forward until that one nice girl ran up and grabbed it off the ground.
Pretty shameful. But hurry, it’s getting scrubbed and cropped away quickly.
