President Donald Trump offered an unusually strident criticism of the Fox News Channel on Sunday evening, after the network aired the New York Times defense of its claims about harsh conditions in facilities for migrants at the border.
Trump tweeted:
Fox News anchor Jon Scott had earlier aired a report on FOX Report Weekend that covered the dispute between the president and the Times over its reporting. The Times claimed, in a front-page story Sunday, that conditions inside a facility in Clint, Texas, were the stuff of nightmares.
Many of the migrant facilities currently in use were opened during the Obama administration, when there was a surge of illegal aliens crossing the U.S.-Mexico, many of them unaccompanied minors from distant countries in Central America. Part of the impetus for the surge at the time seemed to have been anticipation of the passage of an amnesty law, and President Barack Obamas policies favoring illegal aliens who had entered the country as minors.
Since then, the surge has continued, fueled by poor conditions in Central America, the rapidly-growing U.S. economy, and the well-publicized efforts of Democrats to thwart every attempt by the Trump administration at border enforcement.
Trump criticized the Times report as phony and exaggerated:

Yep. Token consrcatives, but Rupert screwed the pooch letting his son run it.like to watch OAN, but their programming and reporting is pretty lame
We LOVE OANN! Their nighttime programs are very well worth the watch. I agree...during the day, the repetitiveness can grow tiresome. Same stories, over and over. We are trying our best to give them viewership, though.
I want a sort of privately owned PBS toned (with a hint of C-Span) intellectual station featuring the likes of Thomas Sowell, history documentaries, international politics, weekend lectures, etc..
Agree!
What is stopping Breitbart and OANN from merging into a network? They don’t have to go on cable or satellite; they can stream for a monthly fee. The audience is there. Breitbart web page is among the top 10 news sites which is why FOX rolled out their FOX Nation platform to compete with Breitbart. I listen to Breitbart Morning News daily.
I see this exodus of Central America that obozo and the complicit multicultural churches created as equivalent to the Arab spring thats invaded Western Europe.
“I want a sort of privately owned PBS toned (with a hint of C-Span) intellectual station featuring the likes of Thomas Sowell, history documentaries, international politics, weekend lectures, etc..”
I gotta believe there’s a market for that and surprised that no one has tried to capture it yet. A lot of people say OAN is really good but I can’t help but think they don’t have the resources to afford a lot of reporting. Plus, I don’t want to pay any more for tv than I already do.
Fox still has quite a number of solid conservatives who at least appear on the network: Charles Hurt, Mark Thiessen, Mollie Hemingway and others whose names escape me right now. For the most part I like some of the “Fox contributors” more than the hosts.
Would they prefer an arroyo?
The ditz said she'd ground her and take away her phone.
First, bravo Mr. President! Got to call them out every chance you get.
Can never trust faux news since it was them who tried to derail the Trump candidacy early on - shameless character assassination attempt, plain and simple. A lot of people seem to forget that, but I do not.
If faux news was successful, Hillary would be Commander-in-Chief. We all know what that means.
I also try to spread the word on OANN. They deserve a real shot at becoming a player in the media market.
Yup
Give them all a one-way to Spain.
Spain is the root cause and they sorta speak the same lingo.
Wanna wipe put Fox News Channel, etc. in one blow. “Never Trumper”, Dana Perino made me puke today sitting in for failed, boring Trump hating, America hating, Chris Wallace. Alas...but, such is the once great FNC as of late!!!
So...North Carolina folks, POTUS, Trump will be in North Carolina for a political rally on July 17, 2019. The Williams Arena. this arean hold a capacity of 8,000 people. You good folks in NA+C and surrounding nearby states should crank out 50,000 people inside and outside the arena. And then, so much for FNC!!!
Contact: www.donaldjtrump.com for 2 free tickets today. It’s time to begin destroying both the Hate& Never, “TRUMP/AMERICA”,`Democrat Party and their lap dog media politically right now!!! Do it!!!
He’s nearly right.
Faux didn’t forget them. They intentionally abandoned them.
They’d get rid of Hannity, Pirro, Dobbs and the couple of other conservative leaning talking heads if they thought they could get away with it.
I think Fox’s is trying to help CNN stay alive in the market. You fill in why if you’d like.
Several of us freepers have been posting for a long time about the noticeable liberal bent of Fox News cable on weekends. I don't even watch its news and commentary offerings on weekends any more, with one or two exceptions.
In his heyday, Chicago's late corrupt and long-time Mayor Daley was famous for saying "Ya gotta dance with da one that brung ya" when his critics slammed him for his open ward-heeling and blatant political patronage. But that's how he stayed on top for years.
Fox News honchos should take notice that it's a largely conservative audience that has "brung dem" to where they are today...i.e., leading all cable news rivals in ratings.
It's looking more and more like we conservatives are just wallflowers these days as Fox is dancing more and more with the Left and affording them a vast platform for their anti-American and anti-Trump views.
No, thanks....."I'm sitting this one out".

If President Trump really wants to chastise Faux News, he should promote OANN more.
...the surge has continued, fueled by poor conditions in Central America...etc. etc. etc.
Discounting completely the democrats’ promoting open border, no consequences, financially rewarding illegal entry, and sanctuary cities waiting for them here.
