A group of Arizona police officers were asked to leave a Starbucks coffee shop on July 4 after a customer complained to staff that she didnt feel safe with them being there, reports say.
Five cops from the Tempe Police Department were drinking at a branch of the coffee chain in the city when they were approached by a barista and told that a customer had made a complaint about their presence.
The worker is said to have told them to either move out of the complaining customers line of sight or leave the premises entirely, the Tempe Officers Association claimed in a series of tweets.
President of the union, Rob Ferraro, believes the treatment the officers were subjected to is an unfortunate sign of the times.
Its become accepted to not trust or to see police and think that were not here to serve you, Ferraro told FOX 10.

No, no, that's assault, you will do time.
I suspect they'd be happy to disarm the police as well.
Excuse me, but the shooter that shot to death 5 cops and injured 9 others in Texas was from Mississippi, not CA or AZ.
And btw, it was the Texas governor who ran over to CA begging for companies to move to Texas.
Hard to believe this happened in Arizona.

Didn’t happen in Arizona, it happened in Starbucks!
Starbucks are liberal safe spaces. Remember the two “blactivist businessmen” who went into a Starbucks, bought nothing, sat down and then asked to use bathroom. When barista said no unless they bought something, Starbucks fired her and had racial awareness day and said nobody would be kicked out or denied bathroom use in ANY Starbucks.
Of course the policy doesn’t apply to police officers who actually bought coffee and patronized Starbucks. Hypocritical you say. Not to Starbucks. You see, racial sensitivity day taught them that #blacklivesmatter and therefore #bluelives rights don’t count.
I’m surprised no one waited for the cops to leave and then walked up to the counter and stole something: “I don’t see any cops around, so I’ll just take this. Call 911 if you like. I’m sure they will rush right over.”
Didn’t have to “beg” very hard,
If Ca is so great whybdid they leave?
We can counter this. The next time you see an officer in a Starbucks, buy them a coffee and make sure the employee knows that you are doing it.
They re-elected McCain after the S&L debacle - for decades after.
How is this stupidity hard to believe?
I would never go to this liberal bastion political correctness. These are the kind of bastards that would spit in your coffee!!!
I think I’ll go into a Starbucks and then tell them I’m uncomfortable and don’t feel safe because there are liberals inside, so please ask them to leave.
Milkshakes (frappes) please

That made me chuckle. Dont get me wrong, I support the police and appreciate the tough job they perform. But long gone are the days that the police serve the public. They are more enforcers of the status quo than they are defenders of the public. With that said, they dont deserve to be treated with such disrespect.
The police shoulda told everyone to get on the ground and put their hands behind their backs until everyone was searched for suspected drugs- Employees as well
oh yeah, and if a crime ever occurs in that starbucks, and they call the police, the reply should be “Sorry- We aren’t welcome in your store, remember?”
A fair number of folks here know what I do for a living
I have contracts for police and other public servants whereby I wash their vehicles for half price as fleets
I also wash personal vehicles and veterans and firemen and wives of all same deal on a variety of wash packages
Fifty percent off
25,000-40,000 bucks a year in discounts
Depending on the year
And this from someone who has at times had issues with John Law in my 61 years
Still I realize a civilization without them is worse
Why?
Cause Ive experienced that too
Its pandemonium
Can anyone sue for harassment and discrimination or just the favored classes?
And here I thought refusing service to a specific group of people was a practice that ended with the civil rights movement of the 60s.
In many places they give policemen free meals and free coffee, because they are glad they come.
Starbucks management should offer free coffee and snacks to all policemen, by way of apology.
And educate their employees to welcome police, NOT to tell them to leave.
We need a picture of this woman. She is obviously a criminal or she wouldnt have that ugly reaction to police.
Starbucks needs to come down hard on the employee who bent to the will of this disgusting woman.
