I think it’s rudeness and rank stupidity more than anything. When Rapinoe — or any other athlete — looks back on their short career and realizes that they could have visited the White House with their teammates, many of whom they’ll never play with again, they’re going to regret it. Nobody is saying you have to agreen with the president, but you do need to respect the office. Life’s too short.
The USNWT a few years was better. They didn’t talk politics and they didn’t announce that they were getting married...to a carpet muncher...
What time should I care to see what the outcome of the game was?

That’s fair because not many Americans “attend” Megan’s play job. More so now that she displays hatred for half her countrymen.

I get it. No doubt to an individual the Dutch despise Trump, also. But that’s expected of any Euro team, where they’re force fed CNN and nothing else and hating conservative America is the only acceptable stance. The US players, who benefit from the largesse of the US citizenry and its system, should know better.
The best women’s soccer team lost to adolescent boys 13-14 years old. I coached competitive soccer both club and school. The middle school boys could beat the varsity girls. The boys in 7-8 th grade were faster, stronger, and more competitive than 11-12th grade girls. Boys beat women 90% or more of the time they scrimmaged. No boy wants to be beat in that situation. The testosterone comes out and they play harder.
No difference. No competition. Just biology.

While we may feel this way the President did exactly the right thing by inviting the entire team WIN OR LOSE!. Now these nitwits are going to look like bitter fools NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS ON SUNDAY! ha ha. President Trump has put them in a position where they simply can not come out looking like anything but the despicable people they are. Megan and the others that have opened their mouths are either going to have to further disrespect the entire country by not going. ( which will certainly affect their marketability) OR they will have to eat their words and go to the White House. Since the President invited them Win or Lose they can’t get out of this predicament.

The team visited Obama after it won the World Cup four years ago. I never heard about players thinking very hard about if they should meet Obama in the White House...
President Trump invited the team. What if the team decides not to show up? Then President Trump would have exposed the team as the partisan team. The team met Obama. But, it is not going to meet Trump? That is not being non-partisan...
A national team should be non-partisan...
I don’t care if Golden State Warriors Team only insists on meeting Democrats in Washington DC...That team is not supposed to represent the whole country...Who cares...
The response is why aren’t the U-15 boy’s teams paid at all? They are obviously better than the women’s team. Equal pay for equal something and all that.
