2020 Census Questionnaire – Citizenship Question – Status Unknown…
CTH ^ | July 3, 2019 | sundance

Posted on 07/03/2019 1:23:05 PM PDT by Presbyterian Reporter

Last night President Trump sent a series of tweets that seems to be disconnected from most reporting on the 2020 Census. Originally, after the DOJ lawyers informed litigants in the case about the census going to print, everyone believed the 2020 census questionnaire would not include the citizenship question.

It is possible the 2020 census printing could begin without the actual page that would carry the citizenship question. No-one seems to know what the actual status is.

----

Leftist heads will explode if Trump were to add a second page to the census form explicitly asking if the resident is a citizen!!!!

The following site gives the questions that have been asked on the USA census since 1790.

https://www.census.gov/history/www/through_the_decades/index_of_questions/1790_1.html

The CITIZENSHIP question has been asked on the following census: 1820, 1830, 1870,1880, 1890, 1900, 1910, 1920, 1930, 1940, 1950.

The CITIZENSHIP question has been asked in the past census when there is a significant number of immigrants.

Therefore, we already have the precedent for asking the question.

I see no reason why the citizenship question cannot be asked in 2020.

I know it is difficult for lazy government bureaucrats to dig into the files, but there are probably all sorts of reasons given in the past that would placate the Supreme Court today.

I wonder why it was eliminated after 1950?

Just put it in and challenge SCOTUS to stop it.

The report had been that they were going to print the forms two days ago — without the question.

Did they get printed, or did they delay the printing? Seems like a pretty straightforward question to ask the Dept of Commerce/Census.

If the question, “Are you a citizen?” is answered “No” on page one, then page two goes to the shredder.

” there are probably all sorts of reasons given in the past that would placate the Supreme Court today.”

It’s a flawed premise. Roberts screwed beacause he dislikes Trump. There would have no problem for any other POTUS. It was not because Roberts didn’t like the stated reason, it was just a BS excuse to screw the countrty...again.

**********************************
I’m going solely on (potentially faulty) memory, but I think it was moved to the “long form” version where they ask more detailed questions for something like every sixth household. And that would yield statistically valid national count results when extrapolated.

In any case, it wasn’t actually eliminated until the 2010 census when the Obama Globalists removed it.

It is my guess that by 1950 the percent of non-citizens was so small that it no longer made sense to collect the data.

From 1870 until 1930 there were a lot of legal immigrants to the United States.

As those immigrants became naturalized citizens, there would be fewer and fewer non-citizens living in the USA.

“””I wonder why it was eliminated after 1950?”””

By the way, in 1950 there were 151.3 million people living in the United States.

I have been searching the US Census websites trying to find the number on NON-CITIZENS included in the 151.3 million people living in the United States in 1950.

So far I have been unable to find the data. The Census folks seem to be hiding the information.

Supposedly it was ready to go and that was the day for the printing. The news was that they decided not to postpone it, so it was getting printed on Monday without the question.

A hundred million forms (approximately)? Yeah, I doubt all 100 million of them were to be printed on Monday. But still, the obvious question is whether the printing was postponed or they want ahead without having the question on the form.

“The report had been that they were going to print the forms two days ago — without the question.”

Actually, that report came from the anti-Trumper NYC AG who got the report from the DOJ lawyer...who has ties to obamatard. I would rather believe Trump than fake news central and the never trumper nincompoops.

of course when it came out, all the NEVER TRUMPER freepers came out from their caves and started blasting away in the forums...
