Stunning North Korean propaganda film shows Trump's critics are wrong
American Thinker ^ | 07/03/2019 | Thomas Lifson

The Fanatic Trump-haters in the media are once again proven wrong, as the North Korean media are stoking public expectations of a deal that will improve their lives. Far from a photo-op that strengthens Kim and denigrates Trump and the USA, the regime's propaganda is stoking North Korean public expectations of a successful denuclearization deal. It also features President Trump as a wise and courageous leader.

A remarkable 16-minute North Korean propaganda video has been subtitled and posted to YouTube, and the tone, narration, music, and cinematography all point to efforts to sell the public on a new era that is forthcoming.

It goes without saying that not a word of propaganda would be issued without careful consideration of its political ramifications, so we can take the narrator's words as reflecting exactly what Kim Jong-un and the Politburo of the party want the people of North Korea to hear...and believe.

The entire film is embedded below, but here are a few screen grabs showing the narration in subtitles at key points.

As the film ends, the narrator expresses surprise at the trust that "we did not expect" while Kim enters his limo (that appears to be a Lincoln, not the Mercedes he formerly used) and drives away.

This film will make it harder for the North Koreans to stonewall, now that they have raised expectations, though the regime is certainly capable of reversing course and switching its propaganda line. Nonetheless, it suggests a sincere effort on Kim's part to achieve a deal that would accept security guarantees and a combination of aid and investment and the resulting prosperity, in return for a timetable for a nuclear stand-down.

Little mentioned is that the North Korean regime has lost legitimacy with the populace. The police -- even the secret police -- are encountering resistance and disobedience, with bribes and shakedowns becoming routine. Sanctions have cost the military the stocks of ammunition, fuel, and food necessary for training and maneuvers, so their readiness is deteriorating. Without the hope and prospect for peace provided by Kim's meetings with Trump, a coup or assassination and a collapse of the regime seem likely.

Thanks for posting this! Saw an earlier thread about this video; am really hoping Fox picks up on it.
Shows Trump’s one small step into NK might well be a GIANT LEAP for U.S.!!!!

Any other administration, this would be heralded as historic and unprecedented. No other president can claim this much success. Instead, it’s hardly acknowledged or covered in the press.

Outstanding! If they’re putting this out to the NK people, could a peace treaty ending the war be in the works?

After all is said and done, I think Trump has achieved his career success because he has a track record of trustworthiness.

It appears that Kim would like to improve the lives of his countrymen, and he believes he can trust Trump in working toward that goal.

I’d really love to see a remix of both audio and video with the music and sound effects of Gangnam Style.

It may prove to be not just a “career” success for Trump, but an historic VICTORY for our FREE republic!

Given the choice, the pathetic US media would rather be able to blame Trump for North Korea nuking the US, than to have to give Trump credit for peace.

Does anyone doubt this? What evidence do you have?

I love it - the video made a point of including footage a broadly grinning Kim shaking hands with Ivanka. :o)

Dictators ride to and fro upon tigers which they dare not dismount.- Winston Churchill

If Kim and his band of thugs have lost some of their power and resources because Trump's sanctions, they may also see him as a safer way out from the "back of the tiger". Trump has offered them more prosperity in exchange for giving up their nuclear weapons. I suspect that Kim is adopting that propaganda message as a way to keep the support of the people through hope of a better life as he "dismounts the tiger".

Quite the video. It’s hard to imagine, with this type of publication, that North Korea would backtrack after this. It would be an obvious betrayal of the process. They’re publicly stating “denuclearization” is the goal and to end the poor history between them and us. Very powerful.

This is why liberal heads are exploding, if PDJT succeeds he’ll have performed a miracle nobody would have considered possible. Second, the next president will, almost certainly, have to also visit in a similar manner - otherwise it’ll be seen as a betrayal on our part and a step backwards, used as an excuse by North Korea.

PDJT has guts.

Who is the primary audience for this propaganda? NK people ... or us?
