Earlier this week, Senator Chris Coons, a Democrat from Delaware, wrote an essay in The Atlantic expressing disappointment that Democrats routinely forgo talking about how their faith informs their politics.
“Unfortunately, choosing not to talk much—or even at all—about faith and religion has become common in today’s Democratic Party,” Mr. Coons wrote. “That choice, I believe, is the wrong one.”
Mr. Coons, a graduate of Yale Divinity School, said Democrats choosing to ignore faith “hides away the deep, passionate and formative faith backgrounds of so many Democrats who are seeking or serving in office.” Plus, it “ignores the clear fact that America is still an overwhelmingly religious country, and that the Democratic Party, too, remains a coalition largely made up of people of faith—including tens of millions who identify as deeply religious.”
Part of the issue, Mr. Coons said, is that politically faith has come to mean for many people positions that are against abortion and rights for L.G.B.T. people. He said Democrats should seek to expand the notion of how faith informs their worldviews.

BTW, AMERICA is the Jesuit weekly magazine. Its purpose is apparently to get more Catholics on board with abortion, sodomy, and virtue signaling.

The Democrats do have faith and they have built plenty of “worship” sites all across the country to promote it. You and I call them Planned Parenthood clinics!
So let me get this straight. If you live your life according to JudeoChristian philosophy you are supposed to be banned from politics. But if you subscribe to some murderous philosophy like Marx or Sanger you are perfectly fine?

When he says “politically faith has come to mean for many people positions that are against abortion and rights for L.G.B.T. people” he is misidentifying faith with doctrine.
Sound doctrine tells people to oppose the normalization of homosexuality, that if He made us male and female there aren’t umpteen other valid options to choose from based on our feelings, and that the murder of the innocent and helpless is bad.
A person doesn’t actually have to have a faith that saves to have sound doctrine about particular issues.
But if you say you believe and yet you clearly advance in your advocacy things entirely contrary to sound doctrine when those things are among the low hanging fruit, do to speak, what is it that you really believe?

I might often casually say that it’s better to believe than not to believe but then again Romans 1:18-32 makes it clear that it is people who refuse to retain the knowledge of the Lord who are at risk of being turned over to reprobate minds. ... so maybe “believing” without repentance can lead to very much worse than not believing in the first place.
Again, Romans 1:18-32 is not about the advocacy of homosexuality ... that is a byproduct of a process that has been going on before it that is described as not retaining the knowledge of the Lord.
It’s like a canary in a coal mine that dies: when you see this sign you should realize something bad is happening and get out.
And since homosexuality is so clearly wrong in Scripture it does indeed seem like by the time someone can compromise on that that they’ve compromised a lot away already. That advocacy of homosexuality isn’t the beginning of having a depraved mind, nor is it the end of it, but it’s a clear indication that there is a pressing need for repentance.
Not everyone who advocates for these very bad things has been given over to a depraved mind, and the Lord knows who is what though we do not.
“Faith”, not sound doctrine, overcomes the world ... but it will not overcome the world by being as filthy as the world at the world’s filthiest.

The Rat party is the party of sodomy, perversion and promiscuity, and executing babies. None of them are genuine, faithful Bible-believing Christians.
