Huber Watch: Enforcing existing laws can help prevent gun violence
Salt Lake Tribute ^ | 6/29/2019 | Ryan Robinson

I read with interest the story published by The Salt Lake Tribune entitled, “Salt Lake City mayoral candidates say young people must push City Hall to take ‘courageous steps’ in gun violence prevention.”

...

I spend a lot of time thinking about how we can prevent gun violence. In my mind, there are many common-sense laws that might reduce gun violence without compromising one’s constitutional right to bear arms. As is mentioned in the article, most require consensus amongst our federal or state legislative branches, which can be hard to come by. Here is one idea almost everyone can agree upon, one that local officials can enact today. Let’s prioritize enforcing the firearm restriction laws we currently have.

...

It’s been nourished by great leadership from the United States Attorney’s Office and their current U.S. Attorney John Huber, who cares deeply about eradicating gun violence in Utah.

By all means, let’s keep discussing how we can make common-sense legislative gun reforms.

-- but in the meantime, thank you John Huber for enforcing current laws!

Hopefully Huber will drop the FISA / Deep State Coup / Hillary indictments any day now. (But if he doesn't, well we know what he's been busy with.)

Huber is doing his job as US Attorney for Utah in the news today. Provided as part of my ongoing series:

Huber Watch
U.S. Attorney for Utah John Huber in the News

A lot is riding on the shoulders of John Huber, what is he up to, based on news accounts?

Some past HuberWatch highlights:

He is prosecuting vandals defacing rocks on national lands:

Idaho Falls man pleads guilty in Corona Arch graffiti case

SALT LAKE CITY — Federal prosecutors say an Idaho man has pleaded guilty to defacing a sandstone arch near Moab by scrawling graffiti on the rock feature.

As part of a plea agreement, the 45-year-old Idaho Falls man will pay a $1,000 fine and restitution of nearly $860 to the U.S. Bureau of Land Management for the damage done at Corona Arch

...

"U.S. Attorney John Huber told the Tribune on Friday that Andersen’s actions were “troubling to us and anyone who values Utah’s beautiful public lands. People travel from around the world to visit these spectacular resources. Mr. Andersen learned a valuable lesson from this prosecution.”

He's working to bring down street-level drug dealers and throw the book at them:

A 22-year-old Utah man died from an overdose. Now, federal prosecutors want big prison sentences for those who sold him the drugs.

“We all share responsibility in helping our communities rise above this epidemic,” U.S. Attorney for Utah John Huber said in a Monday statement. “Within that space, surely the drug dealers and providers have culpability. Our efforts, like those in other federal districts, will track back from an overdose death to find those responsible for providing the drugs that led to the death. Drug dealers and traffickers will be held responsible.”

He is assigned to work with the OIG on the FISA warrant investigation, in this recent article

Of course this is the assignment that we are told is to form the key of bringing down the Deep State Coup plotters, but there is little evidence of any activity around it since this initial flurry of articles around the announcement by Jeff Sessions. <

Illinois’ congressional delegation spar over growing questions of surveillance abuse claims

Trump was roundly criticized (for his "tapped my wires" acqusationat that time for the unsubstantiated accusation, but congressional investigations over the last year lead by Republicans have unearthed what Republicans say was bias and wrongdoing by Obama administration Department of Justice employees involved in the process of getting warrants on a Trump adviser that allowed for surveillance on the Trump campaign.

The U.S. Department of Justice Inspector General investigation into the alleged FISA abuse is ongoing. A U.S. attorney from Utah, John Huber, also is investigating the claims.

That's all for now!

“Gun violence” is a wretched phrase.

People are violent. Some more than others. As an observation, restricting firearms from Democrats would objectively reduce “gun violence” to amongst the lowest levels in the world.

Perhaps that should be the debate questions asked by our esteemed media outlets during the Democratic primarys. “Raise your hands if you are in favor of disarmimg Democrats”.

Sounds like a political hack to me.
None of these cases requires a US Attorney to resolve

Isn’t Huber the guy useless Jeff tapped to “do something” when he was getting a LOT of pressure about fisagate?

He cites the school shooting then talks about enforcing existing laws that don’t allow convicted felons to have guns, etc. He thinks he has done the rational thing to prevent school shootings, I guess. It does not. None of the school shooters I can think of would not have been prevented working their evil by enforcing existing laws that he cites. Some of these agents of Satan could have been stopped if the warnings that were blaring had been heeded and other sorts of interventions employed.

“Let’s prioritize enforcing the firearm restriction laws we currently have.”

Nah...most of them suck. Just enforce criminal use of guns such as murder, robbery etc.

Yes, and back when I used to post on the Q thread I started keeping track of what Huber was doing, based on visible news reports. That's the genesis of the "Huber Watch" moniker.

That was intended as a playful parody of the many repeating posts that are the foundation of the endless Q thread. They begin with Ransomnotes huge table of Q links, and then there are about 20 other repeating posts reminding people to do things like "post links" but "not from 8chan"...

From early on I felt that if Huber was going after the Deep State we'd read about it. After all, when Mueller was going after Trump we read about it all the time! We had indictments, guilty pleas, search warrants, SWAT-team assisted arrests.

I used Google alerts and what I saw was the Huber was doing all sorts of stuff - IN UTAH - which added to my sense of skepticism about Huber.

The weird thing is though that in Barr's last discussion of things he said something to the effect that Huber's work in investigation of Hillary would be coming to fruition soon.

So even at this point, I'm not 100% sure that Huber isn't doing something else besides busting crooks in Utah. But for sure, there has been reporting of it, if it's happening.

And that fact, right there, is big enough to fly a giant Q shaped blimp through.

See my previous post.

It's not that I'm a huge Huber fan, nor that I think enforcing existing gun control laws (which, as pointed out, many of which are unconstitutional) are so important and Huber is doing a great job - la de dah.

I watch Huber to see if he's done anything about the Deep State that Session said he was investigating.

So far the answer is NO!.

Ever notice his mouth is always open in every photo?

I hate to call him a “mouth-breather” but...

Almost.

He’s the guy that Sessions claimed he had ALREADY tapped to “do something” after he was getting pressure. Like he said something like “Investigate the FISA warrants? I told Huber to do that six months ago.”

“So even at this point, I’m not 100% sure that Huber isn’t doing something else besides busting crooks in Utah.”

My sense is that we’ll eventually get a report from Huber which will mainly consist of him reviewing the existing reports of the FBI investigation on the email server and noting where he thinks things were done improperly.

Anyone hoping for indictments from him is probably going to be very disappointed.
