I’m convinced the purpose of these Antifa attacks, and the police and press ignoring them, is to drive someone on the right to the point of killing one of the Antifa goons. Self defense or not, the MSM will then have its narrative of the “violent right”.
The MSM doesn’t give a rat’s ass that Antifa crowbars an old manor meats a journalist to a pulp (he’s not an American-hating jouno, so they won’t even report the story).
The Leftists like the Antifa terror squad. It serves their purpose to shut up the Right under threat of murder.
The only way to nail these bastards is the Covington way. Sue their assets off. Bring civil rights violations against the police and mayor.

I think they’d have to cross a bigger threshold than just they got beat on and the police were nowhere around, though. Have to have a cop acting like that fat swine in Dearbourn, watching the victim get abused and ordering him to move on or get fined or arrested. But Anti-fa itself has some sort of organizational basis. There are chapters, chapter heads, regional heads, a national leader of some sort. People didn’t just wake up one day with the same idea, MO, and taste in body armor. If there’s an organization, they have finances, and if they have finances, they can get sued.
Maybe the DOJ can go after them under RICO and as a terror organization. They’ve done that with the KKK and the Mafia, and numerous drug organizations.
