1969 World Series champs on Saturday, the Mets honored members of that team who have passed away with an in memoriam video. But not everyone in the video is dead.
are still alive Jim Gosger and Jesse Hudson.
Someone from the Mets phoned Gosger after Saturdays game to apologize for the error, and a source told The Posts Zach Braziller that Gosger took the flub in stride. The Mets were hoping to get in touch with Hudson to apologize as well.
Gosger, 76, played in 10 regular-season games as an outfielder for the Mets in 1969 and returned to the club in 1973 for a two-season stint. Hudson, 70, made one relief appearance for the 69 Mets, his only big-league game.

On a related note, contrary to popular belief the moon landing conspiracy hoax started years before Alex Jones was even thought of. I remember months after the 1969 Series CPUSA head Gus Hall, who fmr CIA director John Brennan bragged about voting for Pres, claimed he had proof that NASA paid off then MLB Commissioner Bowie Kuhn $5million to rig the 69 baseball season so that the hapless hopeless last place Mets would miraculously win the World Series, so as to distract the public's attention from the moon landing hoax NASA was perpetrating.
Theyre not dead yet. Theyre feeling much better.
Sounds like Biden’s gaff:
Hey Chuck, where are you?
Stand up Chuck! (Chuck is in a wheel chair)
Wonder if he went for a walk?
Oym feeling bet’ah...
Only after four balls...
LOL
Did they apologize before or after the autopsy ?
Joke I’m sure you’ve heard:
Britisher goes to first baseball game...
First batter hits the ball...Everyone around is yelling run, so he yells “Run, man!!! Run!!!”
Second batter gets a hit and the crowd yells again...He stands and yell again, “Run, man!!! Run!!!”
Third batter gets ball one...Ball two...Three and then ball four...As he trots toward first, the Britisher stands and yells “Run, man!!! Run!!!”
The guy next to him says he doesn’t have to run because he has four balls....
The britisher then yells “Walk proudly, son!!! Walk proudly!!!!”
[”What the Hell Did You Trade Jay Buhner For????” ]
He had a rocket for an arm!!!
I don’t think Gosger made the post season roster. Most of his 1969 season was with the Seattle Pilots. He made Jim Bouton’s book, “Ball Four.”
Gosger is one of the nicest guys around. Won’t be a big deal.
Along with Randy (’Big Unit’) Johnson and Alex (’A-Rod’) Rodriquez, Jay (Bone), Buhner filled out the Mariner’s contribution to MLB’s all sexual nick-name team! Ken (’Junior’) Griffey not so much but darn could he ever play!
