Dang thought I was gonna lean something about this guy. Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson, super devout Calvinist who believed his fate pre-written by God so waged war with no fear for himself. Proposed a "scorched earth" campaign to Jefferson Davis years before Sherman inflicted it on the South. Had he not succumbed from wounds incurred at the Battle of the Wilderness he would likely have led the Confederacy to win Gettysburg. Jackson's loss tilted the South to a mostly defensive footing until war's end.
