How Roy Moore Could Actually Win Alabama’s Republican Senate Primary
FiveThirtyEight ^ | Live Blog: Women’s World Cup Jun. 20, 2019 | Geoffrey Skelley

A large primary field may fragment the vote, making it unlikely that a candidate could win a majority and avoid a runoff and making it easier for Moore to advance to a runoff with only the support of his base.

The point is that Moore does have a path — especially a path to a primary runoff if there’s a crowded GOP field. And if he does get there, he would be only one step away from a rematch with Jones.

Moore would still have a decent chance of winning a general election in conservative Alabama, and that is surely a big part of why he’s running again.

Roy Moore benefits as described in the article IF he is the only conservative candidate running for the Senate in Alabama. Hopefully that will not be the case.

I never said he was a leftist.

Moore, however, is stupendously stupid with a creepy penchant for little girls.

The guy must have severe inadequacy issues.

AL votes nearly 70% GOP in Presidential elections.

Trump got 1,318,255 votes in Alabama in 2016. This next year I think he will get more than that.

So you tell me, 1,318,255 are going to vote for Trump, and then go over and vote for Doug Jones?

Really?

The Democrats will not be able to do much more than top their 673,896 votes they got in 2017. Ain't gonna happen.

The inherent dynamics of the race are going to guarantee the Republican candidate wins, no matter who it is.

And where did you get that lie which you seemingly feel the need to repeat?

I’d like to know what he did that was illegal connected to little girls. Please tell me.

If you can’t tell me you’re just advancing the Leftist party line here. Why?

He has our views on homosexuality, Islam, and all Leftist views.

This is a guy that would vote with us nearly 100% of the time.

Instead of supporting the guy, we have people who consider themselves stalwart Conservatives joining the RNC, GOPe, and all members of the Democrat party to trash him.

I’ve never seen people buy into the Leftist party line so blindly, with the end result being they defeated a good man from entering the U. S. Senate.

What the hell folks?

Agreed. Would still be way better than Jones, though.

“But, I tend to give a candidate ONE chance to beat another one.”

Sorry, Ronnie Reagan, you had your shot in ‘76!

“The women have sworn affidavits.”

So did Christine Blasey Ford. Heck, she even testified before Congress.

I should not have left out his support for Right to Live for the unborn.

That was a glaring omission.

I'm proud to have been born in Alabama. Proud six generations of my family name are buried in Alabama. Proud that I still have a sister and brother living there in Alabama along with Aunts, Uncles and a large number of cousins.

And having said that I will always vote against the court of public opinion.

Some need to look back in their family history to find out how many relatives were "old men" in their thirties married to girls sixteen or younger. There was a time that men didn't think of marriage until they were able to provide for a wife and family and women were old spinsters if they were not married before the mid twenties.

Yes, as you stated, it was all just political.

Oh My. You are in a world of delusion.

Everyone knows that Moore, in his past, trolled for little girls.

But, hey, feel free to completely deny it.

Seems like it to me.

I still think we have well-meaning folks who still can’t fathom that the Republican leadership could be our enemies. It undeniably is. Look at what they did to Trump.

We have members in Congress who are very willing to trash decent Conservative candidates rather than see them become the majority in the Senate or House.

When they are willing to participate in robocalls on the day before election telling folks to stay home or vote Democrat, what is left to say.

These actions speak for themselves.

Some dingbat on FR shouldn’t have to come her and explain this stuff to people. They should be able to figure it out for themselves.

It seems like the GOP is just going to leave the seat to the DNC.

Look at what they did to Trump.

...and are still doing doing to Trump.

The same bastards who went out of their way to torpedo Moore the first time around are still running the show.

They aren’t worth a bucket of warm spit.

God help us all in 2024, if we survive that long.

No. What’s going to happen is that Moore is going to get stomped in the primary(and rightfully so)....

and then a Republican wins in the general.

Hell, I may have to drive from Georgia to Alabama so that I can volunteer for Moore’s strongest primary opponent.

Goodness knows he or she will get money from me.

Soros causes chaos & then shorts the currency (or other investment instruments!) and makes another fortune. If there ever was a real James Bond villain its this guy! Even looks & sounds the part!

He’s been convicted of investment fraud in France & I think elsewhere too.

So why has he been extradited? (Rhetorical question not really expecting an answer but would appreciate one from some who might know!) Surely we have an extradition law with France? ( and I am not calling you Shirley!)

You know, there were folks who never got Reagan until after he was out of office.

The same will take place with Trump.

Those who need a cane to walk through life when it comes to Trump, may see it more clearly when he is gone.

Some never will of course. You still have folks stopping by to explain away Reagan as if he could have done better.

Nobody, could do better than these men.

Look at what happened to Jesus Christ. The madness of people who are convinced they are right, knows no limits.
