Power of New York, Texas hinges on immigrant count

Census will determine which states win or lose in redistricting

Two states that have the most on the line in the Supreme Court case over the citizenship question in the 2020 census are taking drastically different approaches to the decennial count next year.

New York and Texas could have the biggest swings in congressional representation after the 2020 census. New York is projected to lose two seats, and Texas could gain as many as three, according to forecasting by the nonpartisan consulting firm Election Data Services.

With the stakes so high, New York has organized a statewide effort backed by public funds to counter potential falloff. At the same time, Texas is taking a much less aggressive approach, with state officials largely leaving response drives to independent groups and communities.

Jeff Wice, a senior adviser to New York Counts 2020, a group of advocacy organizations working on census preparations, said the state’s effort has blown previous census cycles out of the water in terms of the money allocated and organizing statewide.

“We are seeing an unprecedented effort to organize the public sector, the private sector, the libraries — everyone is engaged,” Wice said.

The Supreme Court’s justices are set to rule by the end of the week on whether to add the citizenship question as sought by the Trump administration. If they allow it, the response rate among noncitizens, including those in the U.S. without legal status, could fall by 5 percent or more, according to the Census Bureau.

So, they guess response will fall by at least 5%. If the states loss funds , cut aiding illegals. Stop attracting. Plus assist ICE in sending them HOME!

Back President Trump’s effort to make certain the census form contains the citizenship question in it and no reference to race. But to the country of where the respondent is a citizen of if not an American citizen.
TIME TO END HYPHENATING AMERICANS

One thing the Mexican Constitution has that we should consider doing.Mexico has no hyphenated Mexicans. They prohibit any reference to race when they conduct a census or issue any means of identification, Where a photo id is not available physical description is needed skin color yes but not by race but by nationality..

By doing this Mexico has avoided “balkanizing”, creating fractional disputes in areas where a given group in one of its states is a majority or a minority. Plus it could play a significant part in shutting down the political playing off racial divisions between Americans by the Democrats.

If the citizenship question is not on the census, conservatives who live in blue states should refuse to participate.

I tend to want to agree, but the redistricting will be done at the expense of upstate and western NY, not NYC.

There is already a tendency for the hired census takers in, for example, the NYC inner city to cheat—both in the actually carrying out of their work and in the counts in favor of their racial ethnicity.

With $40M from the city alone to goose results, I can only imagine it being worse than ever this time around.

Same.

Also - I have been pounding this mantra on several threads over the past weeks:

The ‘rats are in the act of executing their plan to let these illegals vote in blue states in 2020.

This is not some distant future - this is now. The driver’s license were the first step.

The RNC had better be on this STAT as well as President Trump’s campaign team.

This is the reason that Pelosi has already announced that President Trump will contest the 2020 election - because she knows it will be rank with illegal votes and he will have good reason.

How about fracking and a business friendly tax policy. Instead we get motor voter to register illegal aliens.

New York City is killing the entire state. It's now lunatic Cuomo and a Dem Assembly and Senate, thanks to supposed NYS GOP Chairman Ed Cox. The NYS GOP party is DEAD, otherwise they would have ousted Ed Cox YEARS ago. The GOP committee goes along to get along for some patronage jobs, nothing more, absolutely pathetic losers. Not a single leader among them, all followers.

I actually feel badly for upstate New York which to me, has more of a midwestern than a northeastern feel to it. New York is one of those states along with Washington, Oregon and Illinois which could benefit greatly be having one nuclear bomb dropped on the largest city in the state.

Add CA to that list as well. Although, it would probably take 2 (LA/SF).

Then, CA could go back to being the kind of state that brought us Reagan.
