President Donald Trump admitted Sunday his decision to stall deportation for illegal immigrants in order for Democrats to work out a deal would probably not work.
“I want to give the Democrats every last chance to quickly negotiate simple changes to Asylum and Loopholes,” Trump said. “This will fix the Southern Border, together with the help that Mexico is now giving us.”
Trump halted the scheduled crackdown on Saturday at the request of Democrats, he explained on Twitter, expressing optimism that they could fix the problems at the border in two weeks.
Trump acknowledged Sunday that the proposed solution would likely fail.
“Probably won’t happen, but worth a try,” Trump wrote. “Two weeks and big Deportation begins!”
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called Trump Friday night asking him to call off the raids, the White House confirmed.
She thanked the president on Twitter for delaying the enforcement crackdown.

What he should put out is something like this:
“If democrats are so confident that their policies are good for the country, why are they relying on illegal voters to elect them?”
Yes, but Trump should never announce when the raids will start, they should be sudden.
The Dems cry about separating families. That happens every day when a convicted felon gets sent to prison. Maybe that is why some of them are now calling for closing prisons.
I disagree. Some of them will self-deport.
Besides, they aren’t hard to find if you actually look for them.
Just set up shop at Walmart and arrest them as they come to use their EBT cards.

If 30 years isn’t long enough to fix the problem, exactly how many centuries will it take Congress to fix it?
The IRS knows where 10s of millions of them are.
The targeted are people with final deportation orders.
What does he expect from the Democrats?
Amnesty?
Families belong together.

When the deportations begin it is now the Democrats fault for not reaching an agreement.
The only solution Congress (both parties) will offer is amnesty.
Maybe he’s hoping to be let off the hook for the enforcement he promised.
Agreement on what?
Amnesty?
These are people who had their day in court and have FINAL DEPORTATION ORDERS.
What is Congress going to do about them?
An agreement on what?
These illegals have already been given final deportation orders.
So what exactly is this deal?
Ignore deportation orders from judges?
It’s not about facts. It’s about optics.
It’s about time we had a President who could beat them at their own game.
Tortured logic.
By interfering in the process, Trump now is the sole owner of the ICE raids.
My guess is they will now never happen.
The optics I see are millions of people getting a pass.
Final deportation orders are the low hanging fruit, if he can’t even deport those, we have lost.
“It’s all over for Trump now. He really stepped in it this time.”
And this time you really mean it!
Families can be deported together.
This has been going on for fifty years.
Two weeks is total failure?
President Trump has been delaying for 2 1/2 years.
Two weeks is chump change.
