I want to give the Democrats every last chance to quickly negotiate simple changes to Asylum and Loopholes. This will fix the Southern Border, together with the help that Mexico is now giving us. Probably won’t happen, but worth a try. Two weeks and big Deportation begins!

By last chance I hope he is referring to The List of Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement. The list goes like this -
1) southern barrier;
2) require eVerify to hire;
3) end all chain migration;
4) birthright per Minor v. Happersett (plural parents);
5) end work visas;
6) 10-year moratorium on all new applications for citizenship (40 years to allow workplace automation effects on downsizing population)
7) demonstrate English proficiency to acquire citizenship and pass civics test.
Enactment of these provisions will motivate illegal aliens to SELF-deport.
Also consider reciprocation of the laws of the countries of origin of the illegal aliens. For example, Mexico doesn’t allow land ownership or voting to immigrants, and doesn’t honor birthright citizenship like its citizens expect from the U.S. We should offer the same deal to them.
Kind of cynical considering Trump is the driving force behind any enforcement of immigration law at all. I think the delay was because he got ahead of himself and ICE needed some extra time to execute on the new direction from POTUS. So ICE gets some cover while they get their act together and the Dems get the issue/blame of inaction on the border crisis put back on the front page.
It’s not cynical when there is more illegal immigration under Trump than Obama.

While I understand what Trump is doing here, my history suggests you deportations should have begun as scheduled.
The Democrats could still get onboard, but Trump would be in control.
Give the left an inch, they take a mile. Trump is giving them leverage.
President Trump needs to say over and over again that Democrats care more about illegal aliens than they do American citizens who are paying taxes to subsidize the illegals. Eventually. it may sink in.
I originally thought the delay was so the deportation targets would self deport rather that face a forced deportation. A deal never entered my mind.

This is an interesting negotiating technique which may work very well in real estate but it is not working so far with Congress, North Korea, Mexico, or now Iran.
At some point the President will have to deliver on some of his threats - and before he can do that, he has to staff the Executive Branch with loyal America nationalists who are willing to carry out his orders AND are willing to compel or dismiss the massively resisting middle tiers who really make up the government.
So far he has done neither. His reliance on family members who not only don’t share his vision but who are actively opposed to it recalls why King Lear is a tragedy.

It’s much, much too late. He needs a minimum of five thousand loyal SES and GS-14 people, they should have been appointed by March 2017 at the latest. He has no idea how to find them, and when he does stumble across one Jared Kushner gets rid of them.
