Police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann during a family holiday in Portugal are said to be getting closer to solving the mystery.
Officers have now narrowed in on a ‘foreign man’ who was in the Algarve when she went missing aged three in 2007.
British and Portuguese police are set to probe a ‘new clue and suspect’ according to local media reports.
The Correio de Manha newspaper said detectives are now ‘nearer to knowing what happened to Madeleine.’
It comes after a mystery tip-off to detectives examining the 12-year-long case.
Officers are said to be looking into an alleged foreign paedophile who was in Portugal in 2007.
Policia Judiciaria were joined by Scotland Yard officers in Porto recently.
It is believed to be the first face-to-face meeting since the new suspect came to light.
It is not clear if the man’s current whereabouts are known.

People that are mean to kids and domesticated animals deserve the same treatment! Grrrrr!
Doubt this is true. If investigators had any real leads they would be tight lipped about it. It wouldn’t be posted to the news.
IIRC somebody did a “concordance” with Podesta’s whereabouts as indicated in his leaked emails and he and his brother were there. At least that is the myth, IIRC.
My guess would be that the sketches are then photographed. It would be really hard to send sketches via the internet or fax. would lose all context. I am sure the actual sketches are saved. You do know this is the manner or preserving evidence. Like fingerprints. After the prints are lifted they are photographed with a microscopic camera and then sealed away. The actual prints must remain for chain of evidence. The photos are used for all comparisons. Like carrying around sets of lifted prints while on investigation would be easy! Try taking the sketch around to show others and/or sending a piece of the telephone pole it may be attached to! Do you think before you speak.
