Donald Trump Jr. says Roy Moore (R) – the failed Senate candidate who lost to Doug Jones (D) in Alabama’s special election in 2017 – is going directly against the president by launching another Senate bid and is doing a disservice to conservatives in the process.
Moore announced his intentions to run for Alabama’s Senate seat Thursday afternoon.
“I’m ready to do it again and yes, I will run for the United States Senate in 2020,” Moore announced.
“The people of Alabama are not only angry, but they’re going to act on that anger,” he continued. “The people of Alabama are tired of politicians saying one thing and doing another.”
“Can I win? Yes, I can win,” he added.
President Trump has expressed doubts over Moore’s previously rumored consideration, and Don Jr. wants to set the record straight: Moore is, in fact, going against the president, despite his claims otherwise.
“This is pure fake news,” he tweeted. “I can assure everyone that by running, Roy Moore is going against my father and he’s doing a disservice to all conservatives across the country in the process.”
Last month, Trump expressed concern over the possibility of losing a Senate seat in Alabama, warning that Moore would likely be unable to secure the seat for Republicans.
“Republicans cannot allow themselves to again lose the Senate seat in the Great State of Alabama. This time it will be for Six Years, not just Two,” he tweeted.

The Trumps should stay out of AL and let the chips fall where they may be. Moore was the victim of a huge fake news campaign about him dating underage girls and even the co-Founder of LinkedIn was behind most of the smears.
Alabama primary voters can choose their candidate. Unless they have open primaries, then the Dems will help Moore.
He was provably railroaded and smeared to no end by Mitch, the MSM, and Dems. I would love for him to succeed, but I will need to see how things fall out.

I don’t think Moore believes he’s running against Trump and I don’t think it’s a good idea for Jr.to tweet that it’s fake news. You could run the risk of alienating the religious vote. Whether you like him or not you’re talking about a state that passed an anti abortion law. Even after all the attacks against him he still got a sizable portion of the vote.
Just donated to Moore’s campaign again.
Figures. Open primaries are the dumbest idea I can think of off hand but heck I’m kinda tired.
Don Jr needs to stay out of it, stop whining and drink some shut the hell up juice.

Everyone should just let the folks in Alabama make their own choices.

There were two other primary candidates. Moore beat them both.
The GOPe then colluded with fake news and usual suspect leftists to smear him because they’d rather have a Dem than Moore.
If he wins the primary again, he has to be supported this time.
People throw around the term “fake news” left and right.
No this is real news - national news no less. Roy Moore is running again. I doubt he will get too much traction but he’s in.
When Trump agrees with Moore — then Trump would be OK. Where Trump does not agree with Moore then they would be at odds. There is no moving and persuading Roy Moore.
All in all — if a miracle occurs and Moore is elected he would help Trump.
I heard he was offered a free vacation in the Dominican Republic in their best hotel by Schumer for running. Great pool and fully stocked beverage fridge.
What a dumb putz Moore is.
