United Airlines said one of its jet blew multiple tires on Saturday upon landing at Newark Liberty International Airport. Flights were delayed by more than five hours at the busy United hub airport that serves the New York City area.
The tires on the left landing gear of the Boeing 757 blew after Flight 627 from Denver landed at Newark around 1 p.m. said the Federal Aviation Administration.
United Airlines said some customers had minor injuries and that they refused medical attention.

If all tires on one side blew it was not a problem caused by tires. More likely brake lockup as was surmised here.
I should have read here before posting, sorry.
Chinese Steel, Mexican parts, what could go wrong?
This is a bit more serious than blown tires - landing hard enough to drive the landing gear up through the cabin structure is no small feat.
Probably, winds 18 gusting 35 at the time..right down the runway.
Probably used Firestones.
And the Airline wants Me to return My Tray and Seat back to the closed and upright position before Landing for My Safety.
Whats that Sir ? The Cockpit Table has pushed up through the floor right next to You ? OK, Thank You and Ill let the Flight Engineer know about it.
So you believe Boeing does United’s maintenance?
In the 1980s, I was waiting for my connecting flight at LAX, and noticed the terminal getting quite crowded.
A Brazilian 747 blew 8 tires (out of 18, iirc), blocking one or more gates, in particular, a Paris via Newark bound 747. The CSR announced the situation, and said people could board, but they didn’t know when they’d be able to depart.
Most, if not all, took the chance, and there was breathing room in the terminal again.
A short time later, they were on their way.
Saw a heading at OANN on Boeing wanting to reduce testing of new aircraft.
Eh, that’ll buff right out.
How does your foot taste?
Was the Mooch returning from that direction? No wait, she is over seas somewhere sucking someone else’s teat. Her and the head halfrican grifter are on vaca on someones else’s dime.
sabotage??
Lol!
Probably the flight shouldn’t have originated in Denver.
Or a vicious cross-wind landing.
That is closer to a controlled crash landing than just a hard landing. The plane is probably a total loss.
Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing.
